Brilliant, best thing he's done in ages. Umps need to have the guts to go for more calls like that, and if they prove it's wrong on their way off the field, call them back.

PAKISTAN'S controversial Akmal brothers, Kamran and Umar, could face disciplinary action for violating their contracts in the bizarre lead-up to the Hobart Test.

The selection fracas over dumped wicketkeeper Kamran reached a fresh flashpoint yesterday with a Pakistan Cricket Board official revealing both brothers will be issued with a ""please explain" over the behaviour.

The PCB is unimpressed that Kamran repeatedly insisted he was playing in Hobart - despite team hierarchy flying in reserve wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmad to replace him.

Umar could also be in the firing line after revealed that some Pakistan players believed he had faked injury as a protest against his brother's sacking.

Yousuf branded Butt 'a lazy runner' after play and said he was playing for himself and not his country.

"We are not playing for self, we are playing for country," he said.

"I am 35 years old, he is 25 years old, why not take three runs."

Yousuf lingered for seemingly an eternity after the run-out as he glared at his partner before trudging from the field.

When asked his thoughts at that moment the forthright Pakistan skipper replied: "I just stopped there and didn't say anything but I was very sad because of him."

"He is just 25 years old and he can't run and that is why I was just standing there

C'MON, u can not be serious NFC, basically you're saying umpires should have a pot shot guess at close run outs and call them back if proven it was wrong. Thats Guilty b4 proven to be innocent. What if the batsman is off the field b4 its proven? under those circumstances, he Can't be called back. Can only be proven wrong if the umpire calls for the 3rd umpire to adjudicate and he's not going to do that if he's already given it out. Batsman could refer it but wot if they've used their 2 referrals?
Simple fact is that unless it is blatantly obvious it is OUT or NOT OUT with line decisions, the umpire should go upstairs EVERY time and dont take pot shot guesses.

4/137

If it wasn't for Butts shameful running between wickets yesterday, Pakistan would be cruising atm.

Butt snicks to North at 1st slip who puts down a tough chance to his right whilst Haddin's inadequacies as a Keeper are shown up by not even attempting to go for it despite the ball going past 1/2 a step to his left.

The slow pie chucker is on to bowl. 4/142.

Yousef tee'd off like John Daly on young butt, didn't he?

Amazing comments made by the skipper and comments like that dont get forgotten easily.

It needed to be said, but I don't think a public forum is the best place to say it.
