It sucks when an individual thinks he's bigger than your club and treads all over it for personal gain.

These people forget what supporting a club means to fans. For many people, the tone of their week is set by the performance of their club.

It would be great to see Bolton go down.

F*** them going down. £49m in debt, I want to see them go bust.

On our Spurs forum, the vast majority are calling him mental for making the switch.

They had noted that Bolton are in massive debt (relative to the size of their club) and will certainly have to sell one of Kevin Davies or Gary Cahill during Januray.

That's what makes his move so illogical. bolton are below Burnley in the league, they are £40odd million in debt and will have to sell thier best assets if they want to buy, Burnley have no debt at all and don't need to sell anyone. I heard Coyle was going to get another £6m to spend in January at Burnley. Bolton are supposed to have offered him £40m to spend but that's now been revised down to £10m. Who knows.

Burnley's new manager is Brian Laws

Laws played for the clarets from 1979 until 1986 after joining them as a school boy. He's remained a Burnleyite ever since, marrying a Burnley lass and his kids were born in Burnley. His big success came leading Scun.thorpe to 2 promotions before joing cash strapped Sheffield Wednesday. He kept the owls in the ccc for two years but was sacked earlier this season.

It's a big shock and many claret fans don't believe he is the man to keep Burnley in the EPL, but they also forget that he was the fans favourite to take over before both Coyle and Cotterill.

Personally, I'm not sure about him but you have to at least give the guy a chance and get behind him and the team. As for the comments that he has no premieship experience, well neither did Coyle.

Grezza has been named as the new player / coach.

Laws fisrt game in charge will be away to Man Utd, followed by an away game at Bolton. so there's no pressure on him ;)

Come on you clarets.

Bapstism of fire! Nothing like being chucked in the deep end.

I reckon Curbs would have been a better choice.

I heard today that there were 20 applicants including 3 EPL managers not sure if Curbs was interested. He's a london boy through and through so not sure if he would find the North to his liking. personally I think he would have been a good manager for us, but ho hum, lets see how Lawsey does

Haha at 6/1 I would be loading up!

You should throw a few quid on Burnley, they could end up doing the double over United...

I read your original post at Man U paying 6/1. They're actually paying 1/6, which is about $1.16.

At 6/1, I'd have had a big chunk on Man U, as would most of the betting universe.

6/1 would be fairer odds mate. We've already beaten once this season so we are going for the double

Great effort by the clarets today and the 3 - 0 scoreline was very harse. The best two chances fell to Burnley both with the scoreline at 0 - 0.

Laws got a fantastic reception from the clarets faithful (I got goosebumps) and with captain Caldwell, Carlisle (both injured) and Bikey (African Nations Cup) absent, Hall gave Duff a start in the centre of defence along with debutant David Edgar along side him.

Fletcher shot wide when he was one on one with Van Der Sar and was forced to leave the field after a shocking tackle from the ginger thug. Thompson can on and cause trouble for the Man U defence with some good holding and heading work. Eagles was man of the match for Burnley, just pipping both Duff and Edgar for the honour.

Big disappointments were Jordan who gave way to much space and time to and Man U no 25, and Elliott who just hasn't found last years form. Pollack was dissapointing when he failed to give Scholes a card for either of his poor tackles.

Great atmosphere from the claret fanes, and some great songs too. "Where's your money gone, where's your money gone", We've got more cash than you and U S A, U S A.

Reaction from Man U fans.......................sssssshhhhhhhh.

It could have been different had your blokes finished properly last night, in the end we were the more clinical in front of goal.

Not sure why you left Valencia to roam free down the wing though.

Valencia, that's him, No 25. Had acres of space all the game and Jordan was poor.

Spot on though Marty, Man U 9 shots on goal, Burnley 7. We are desperately in need of a quality striker. Nugents ok, but he has missed too many, as for Fletcher, just not premiership quality.
