Stumps, no wickets falling since the 1st session

Both Ponting and Clarke undefeated hundreds Pakistan will have to do something extradorinary 2morrow or I can see these two both getting double hundreds

Ponting is finished!!! ... for the day :)

And when will Michael Clarke EVER score a century when we really need it? :)

Yes, yes, yes, I'm being facetious I know, but I just had to say it.

Didn't see anything except the final 2 overs, but it sounds like a good day for Australia. Let's hope captain and vice captain can set up a big 1st innings total.

I'm wondering the same thing. His "front runner" legend grows ever more.

Yes, it seems he can only make runs when bowlers don't get him out :)

Great innings from Clarke yesterday. Good to see him play some shots, I think he has been a bit too negative this summer.
I haven't been his biggest fan, especially in T20 - where he shouldn't get a game let alone skipper.... grrrr.... but certainly putting together a fine Test record.
Interestingly heard on ABC radio yesterday that after the same amount of tests as Ricky Ponting, Clarke has 3 more centuries

It's good to see people finally putting aside issues with his car, girlfriend, etc, and start realising he actually is a talented world class batsman. Those of us more interested in what he does ON the field have known it for some time.

I wonder if there is a stat on how many times he has made runs coming in with Ponting up the other end, it seems to be that he bats better with the skipper in his ear early.

Your sarcasm detector is damaged. It was 3/71 when Pup walked to the crease.

Agreed REB, I think this theory about Clarke being a front runner has been proven in some way wrong...

However he has made this ton in a meaningless Test, at least in regards to the series, but I still think all Tests still carry weight, regardless of their meaning in a series.

A lot of faults have been covered up by poor Pakistani bowling/fielding IMO this summer.
If we want to regain the Ashes there must be no passengers & free rides in the Aussie team.

- Clarke: Very average summer. Makes runs when the pressure is off. Don't get me wrong - Class player.

- Hussey: Only 'out of' his form slump by a hundred he should NEVER have got.

- Ponting: Lets hope his home-town ton has helped him turn the corner. But in reality, should have been out for nought.

- Watson: Allergy to making a ton. Should have been out in the nineties in the innings he made a ton. Another sitter dropped.

Against class sides, they will not be dropping the catches the Paki's have done. We have a lot of work to do.

3/71 When Clarke came in
Thats enough pressure for me
If he gets out for a quack we are 4/71
People should get of his back
For a guy that bats 5 he is a good Test record

Clarke has done something no otherAustralian batsman has done this summer
4 men have made tons
WATTO
HUSSEY
PONTING
CLARKE

CLARKE was the only one to get a ton without getting dropped by the butterfingered oppositions
