Our senario was Rnd.1 Morphies home to South Road- Sth Rd fofeit. Coro Ramblers Rnd.1 home. Round 2 Ramblers v. MPCC, stuff coin toss MPCC plays home.

Round 1 was actually a home game for Coromandel, not Ramblers. I *think* this is our first home game too, and we played a few last year.

I was more lol'ing at the words used 'retiring hot'. Its just somethign i have never heard before in cricket. But im sure your mob took all precautions in hydrating the night before and the day of the game as you would expect to minimise these situations champ!

Surely it is not that hard?

Genuine Question on how it costs your club money to play this game?

Balls, scorebook, wear and tear on equiptment etc. There might be other costs for some clubs eg; lighting for night games.
We hired a mini bus for the match @ North Haven, cost us a small fortune!

Ok fair enough for balls, scorebooks(you shouldn't be paying for anyway) and equipment costs i can understand although i would've thought that the fees players pay would cover this. The bus costs you can't expect the association to ensure clubs get home games so you can have a mini bus to the away ones, surely people can just drive themselves to a game of cricket.

We might start hiring a stretch hummer for the away games ;) .

How are the guys that weren't too well in the heat on sunday?

Still can't understand the logic of playing T20 last Sunday. We knew it was going to be hot for 5 days or so leading up to it. Not ideal to re-schedule but better to enjoy the game.

Moe, Blackwood Footy Club is Coromandel's home ground for their lower grades. It was their home game in first round and we didn't get bbq money, but was the best possible away draw for us!

We charge $5 to players in T20 to cover cost of ball and chip in for umpire - whether that be our own umpire as we have normally done or towards covering cost of assoc umpire. Only other cost is some white paint for the 30m circle (Anyone actually marking 35m as in rules?).

PH is Adam Wilson back from Adelaide? Is he taking over the skippers job again at Sth Rd? That last question was just for AF ;)

Our fees dont cover the costs for players playing as it is, we use fundraising to fill the gap. While the T20's are a another opportunity for clubs to raise some funds they also reduce the opportunity for holding other social events.
Obviously the bus was an extraordinary cost (i didnt mean for it to sound like it was a regular cost involved in playing T20 matches) and was only done because of the weather and the distance some players had to travel, it also allowed the boys to partake in some refreshments after the game with the NH lads.

We were left with no choice thanks to the lack of communication by the association (RE: association games). With the christmas break and pending assoc. game that was the only free sunday we could play it on, as it was we had to postpone an already organised social event. A midweek night game wasn't an option due to the location, North Haven was just too far away for some of our members who live down south to travel after work.

This is a really big round this week. The top 4 have a real chance to get a long way ahead of 5th with victories and the pack chasing the top 4 don't want to leave their run too late as they may not leave themselves enough time to catch them.

Should make for a good round of cricket.

good luck to all except Morphy Pks ;) .

We did play a night game at NH last year and our boys all live down South but will admit it was a stretch to get there on time. Great facilities for it but hope NH use an orange or pink ball these days. White ball was tough to see once a few scuff marks appeared.

Agreed. Think we'd prefer the 2 1/2 game break on Morphies to being in front of WYC on the ladder if we win.

Just looked at your run home and it isn't an easy last 3 games for you guys.

Keswick, Morphy Pk's and the bays. You guys will want a bit of a buffer leading into that period. Might win all 3 but they are all loseable as well i would say.
