What a great win. No joke after we got bowled out (criminal in a T20 game) I thought typical bloody Redbacks and didn't think we were even a chance of snatching that. But a brilliant first over from Tait & some excellent bowling from O'Brien coupled with a bit of a Tassie choke job and we book a GF spot at home & a trip to the Champions League.

As predicted Top 2 in the bag ;)

why didn't shaun tait win man of the match ? (his first over won us the match)
what was tim paine thinking considering all they had to do was bat sensibly although imho the pitch had movement & varied bounce

the last 16 wickets of the match fell for 112 runs

I assume O'Brien got man of the match.

Would have been a tough call.

yes o'brien got it, even when interviewed on abcradio o'brien, sorrell & one other all mention taits bowling as the reason for the win

O'Brien 4 overs 4/15 i think it was. Very deserving winner imo. Tait and Rana would've been the other contenders.
S.A. Winning is what counts tho and MOST importantly, S.A. hit 3 sixes to Tas 2 :D :D :D

JJ O'Brien only took 3 fa as did Tait.

For mine, the biggest influence on the result of the match was in fact Tait.

Once we had 131 on the board, i was extremely confident we would defend it. Under lights, out of form to some extent Tassie side, a weakish batting line up with many bowling all rounders, an attack with Tait and Afridi, plus the momentum the 'Backs had.

Great win. Looking forward to the Champions League, but more in particular the final in the Big Bash. Cmon the 'Backs!!

Just goes to show what a funny game cricket is, SA early on looked set for a total of around 180 but some great fielding by the Tassies to run both openers out had the Redbacks looking at a total of around 160. Then came that incredible collapse. I thought 131 would be about 20 too short but a great start by Tait who was backed up by good performances by others with the ball and some great fielding saw us get over the line pretty easily in the end. Well done to the Redbacks.

I just wonder when the last time 8 wickets fell in 14 balls in a First Class Match, with us losing the last 6 and then Tassie their first 2.

Mal & Bayman condemming Paine have it wrong and probably only saw his shot live. I'll stand corrected but to me I think he was simply trying to work it around the corner but it got big on him. It definitely was not a pull shot.

I had a feeling Tasmania could choke, as they did on Friday night against Queensland (restricted the Bulls to 157 and got nowhere near that). I was right :D

Booked my ticket for the final - Ticketek must be busy as I haven't got the e-mail with the tickets yet.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

Pretty sure a Domestic T20 is NOT classed as a 1st class match.
Regaurdless, 8 wkts in 14 balls is pretty remarkable all the same.

Only half the ground to faciliTAITe the public

WCP
Whatever Paine tried to do it was a poor shot
If they saw Taits 12 ball spell off with the new ball then TA would have been a huge chance to win

However it was a brave effort by SA to defend a sMALl total

However lets not be complacent
Im a fan of Cosi in 50 over games + SS games where he does OK
BUT
He needs to improve his strike rate in these bashfestics
He has bogged down SA innings twice this year when making his good face value contributions
But his slowness has put the other batters below him under too much pressure
Those games were against QL + TA , fortunately the bolwers defended the targets both times
