Congats guys. The Gaelic WOTY could well be challenged by the recent engagement of Tommy "Dirtbag" Durland and his new mystery love. Hoping this romantic interlude doesnt interfere with his Hannigan Cup commitments.

Hey Wristy - if you can't reveal the name of the mystery partner of the Dirtbag, can yopu come up with a suitable nickname instead?

Yep. 20/20 hindsight was lacking after 20/20. The more i read that previos post the more i realise how little sense it makes to the rest of the world.... Btw, the dance off that i won wasnt with Terry Wallace.

Good luck to Tony the Waterboy who will make his State League Ref debut in Sundays game of the round.
Also to President Zaluski, Stephen and the other bloke whos name escapes me. They are all making their state league debuts in the coming weeks which is good for our comp. If you throw in the old firm of Anto, Adrian and the Whistling Yoda as well as the fully qualified Gav, Matty,Micky Lawlor and other former ref,s still involved with the association ; Kenny,Stormin Norman and Clayton "Ill never ref again" Lush I think we now well and truly have the mens ref situation sorted.

Just checked the official rankings at gaelicbetunfair.com and you were at 153rd Schimm. With the bye this weekend as well, your stocks could plummet to as low as the 160,s......
ONO did previously mention the Gaelic wedding of the year. Well we can officially announce 2 engagements over the break.
CONGRATULATIONS
Nick "Beserker" Delvins and Cindy will be tying the knot at a time TBA. Nick is still to announce who will be his best man. Rumour has it after their entertaining room sharing at last years nationals, Bruno Rocca is the early favourite.
Tommy "Dirtbag" Durland and Deloris are also looking at spending the rest of their lives together. The mystery is over. Still some doubts over whether Deloris will be adopting Tommys name. "Deloris Dirtbag" ????

Gaelic wedding of the week

IAGFC legends Matt Doecke and Anita Bone

Incidently....

The Irish men are not tanking for priority draft picks.

Last night's win for Flinders will prove nothing if they cant keep fielding every week..including finals....they are good enough to challenge

Well done to Mitcham on their first win over Onkas last night..like to think we taught some of those guys something!!!

Great gutsy win by the Irish A grade over Na Fianna playing two short

Player # 374

Good luck in the heat tomorrow all

RESULTS

MITCHAM 3.9=18 def ONKAS 1.12=15
MITCH BEST ; Fergall "Stone Cold" Crossnan (BOG), Soxy, Maze and "Whats the colour of a 2cent piece" Coppa
ONKAS BEST ; "Ace" Aysh Symper, Wade "Sexy" Saunders, Tyson "Flash" Gordon + "The" Gabe Phillips
Upset of the year with Farnan Cup winners going down to the wooden spooners. Fergalls game was outstanding. The turning point appeared to be in the 2nd half when Onk had key player Matt "Karate Kid" Whitford sent off. A good competitive game played in oppressing conditions. The mens comp looks like being another tight fit where 6 teams will be attempting to squeeze into 4 spots.

FLINDERS 7.3=24 def IRISH 1.3=6
FO,N BEST ; Todd "Love Child" Mcsorely (BOG), Rhys "Down" Townsend, Dale "Choco-Loco" Agius + Benji "Neville" Dumovic
IRISH BEST ; Simon "Ranga" Lehmann, Mick "Magic Bullets" Emmet + "Riot City" Ross Kefenick
The Score board doesnt reflect how even the contest was. If you remove the 6 goals scored by the Love child this game would have clearly been much closer. Good signs for Irish with good numbers and some exciting young talent having a dip. Speaking to a former coach after the game i was reminded of the many player losses this club has endured in recent times with the majority of Mitcham being made up of former Irish players and injuries to several key players. The jury is still out on Flinders, they are in a position atm where they have the talent in their squad to win a Hannigan Cup and break a 20 year drought....Insert Farnan Cup Semi final refrence  ...If they can get 7 more weeks of commitment and consistency they are as much of a chance as anyone.

Wont be able to do match reports as i am not doin many more games as a ref this season. I feel like i have played my part in getting the site up and running with many contributors now. Also back at work wont have so much spare time and g/f gets back from Norway next week or so and will need the computer most of the time. Ill always keep an eye on it and will be available if required but the Wristwatch basically wont have the time for ongoing posts.

Well I will do the match report in last nights game if you like Wristy.

ST B 2-9 Dw Na Fianna 1-12
As expected a tough encounter between the arch Rivals but played in a very good spirit. Oppressive conditions meant we weren’t going to see the highest of standards. The Fins raced to an early lead which they kept for all but 2 minutes of the game. 2 unders in the last 10 mins for the taints put them in front by 1 – fins were able to take the ball down and score the tying over from a free with the last kick of the match.

Best Players
Na Fianna: Matt Hill, Kenny Fay, not sure of his name – had an untamed beard tho if that helps.
St Brendans: Mick Zaluski, Shez, Ben Way. Also a handy debut from Andrew Backman for the Taints.

Disappointing to hear that we will not be seeing / hearing as much from WW either on the field or in the chatrooms from now on tho. :(
