Why does the name Trevor Bailey sound familiar? Was he in Churches or PDCA?? Or is my fading memory tricking me?

I vaguely remember him. Facing him as a kid in the nets was scary is pretty much all I remember.
He won some fast bowling competition at the SCG as a fairly young kid too didn't he?
He was part of a Craigmore High School team that won a national high schools competition in the late 80s/early 90s - which from my understanding was a huge effort by the school, as it's usually won by eastern states private schools.

Correct in all aspects, net practice at Elizabeth was harder than games in the late 80's, there was an abundance of quicks.

Faced DeFreitas in the PADC nets many moons ago too - sharp, but a complete space cadet.

Locally, have to agree with Stuey Whitehouse as a quality seamer. Timmy Sargent (sp?) from RCP/Goodwood was a great competitor for many years. Robbie "Chrisso" Christensen was a wily old dog, but got half of his wickets because the ATCA umps were too scared not to give them.Damion Reeves was in the Shane George category - very sharp, but all over the place. Also had the privelege of facing 'Big H' Hayden Cawse and 'Fridgey' Frankel in the Berri nets in their prime on hard wicket. Kept you on ya toes.
Special mention to my goofy footed mate Paul "Dougie" Stewart from Berri - great bloke and a great bowler, mediums and chinamans.
In Churches, Simon Janetzki and Craig Balneaves are by far the best bowlers I have played with and against.

Played for Elizabeth in the late 80's when they were in ATCA then SACA. Very quick, they called him Stinger for a reason.

Not half as hilarious as playing a whole week in the same team as Dougie, had to ice my jaws at the end of the week from laughing so much.
Dougie would be without question in my favourite team of Xl players to play with in my time.

Trevor Bailey played a few games at Craigmore in the late 90s from memory, very sharp, ripped Willaston apart one day took 8/7.

Very funny man. Although, he didn't have much to laugh about in the SANFL finals last season, being a Bays man.
I must find my way into one of these drinking carnival teams one day. I've heard it's a lot of fun and given how much fun I had in the proper carnival, it could only get better!
