The manager called me in and said I had 'chucked' the cucumber back in its container after making a sandwich, rather than 'replacing it gently'. He said the clientele were of a 'higher class' than other suburbs (dunno if this was a dig at me coming from Happy Valley) and that they wouldn't appreciate me treating the food like that. Bloody hell, I think I was better off losing my job there!

There was no point in telling him that any upper-class customers were far more likely to go somewhere like the Lion than a grotty little sandwich shop with a cardboard cutout of a grinning idiot holding up his giant pants out the front. (Lookin' buff, Jared!)

If the Lion reference means North Adelaide, there used to be some nice little cafe's tucked away in Melbourne St that were much nicer the the Lion.
I haven't been there since I got back to SA recently, so I don't know what's there now.
