Yes he got three big wickets, but lets face it, Pollards quick fire 52 put the momentum with us and batted the VICS out the game nearly. And then he chimed in with 2 wickets.

Bit harsh on Pollard IMO

Yes, it's a funny game of cricket when you don't get a bat, and bowl only 2 overs and still have a good claim for MOM! Still, I enjoyed every minute of it! :D

That was a great win by the Redbacks tonight. I thought we might have a bit too much fire power for the Vics but obviously didn't expect us to flog them. Great batting by Harris & then Pollard and a good all around bowling performance to top it off. Tait was just too quick for the Vics top order but was surprised he got MOTM thought Pollard clearly deserved it.

What a great night. The hill was rocking last night, great batting to score over 200 then the early wickets killed the game, awesome night at Adelaide Oval. We really should host the final from here and are a huge chance to win the whole thing.

Great night!

Except for Beers being $6.10! Cant they at least charge a 'round' figure?

Hodge and White were both totally lost against the pace of Tait- backing away like Pakistani tailenders...and dont give me the "they had to get on with it" line, they were all at sea.

Pollard is a 20/20 specialist- super hitting, 52 off 22 and I reckon he spent 5 or 6 balls 'getting his eye in'. Harris played some cracking text book shots, cameos from nearly every other batsmen (2 great strikes by Manou).

Hussey had a shocker- he was given absolute hell from the crowd where we were standing, the dropped catch and the 'extra' run gained when he missed a relay throw gave the boys plenty of ammunition!

Boo to the security for taking the chick down who ran out and touched Les Burdett's buggy a good half hour after the game had finished....there was probably 100 people left in the stadium, and you would have thought she'd shot the Prime Minister!

Pity I cant be here for next game v Tas- Id be a certain starter if I was in the state!

Great night, great to see so many kids interested in cricket, this format will secure the future of the whole sport which is just excellent.

Highlight of the night was a mate professing a lifelong dream to catch a six at the cricket. As soon as Pollard connected with one of his I called it as his, he put his beer down, cleared the walkway and DROPPED IT! Had a massive red mark on his bicep and a sore finger as well as a shattered dream!

Great win by the Redbacks and wonderful now that they are only 1 win away from a home final and of course a trip to India...

Two things on this though...

With the great crowds attebding Adelaide Oval for T20, if we win the rights to host the final, would the SACCA be satisfied with only having 17,000 being able to attend due to the restrictions of the AO upgrade happening ???

Are there any other alternate venues capable of hosting the final, with adequate lighting and up to standard facilities and ground conditions. I think Dutchy mentioned early maybe AAMI Satdium, they could bring a drop in pitch ???

I think they'll just keep it at Adelaide Oval but it would be a shame because they would not only lose revenue but also extra support for the home team, should this of course eventuate. Will be interesting to see what happens ???

Also, I read with interest in the paper the other day that NSW, who of course were the winners of the 20/20 Tournament in India last year, were to be paid the prizemoney by December but are still waiting for the money ???

I thought this as well. Could a drop in pitch be developed in time for the final if they chose to play it at AAMI. Then there's other facilities that need to be developed quickly like sight screens. Also, would the cricket public go to AAMI for a cricket match? How would the SACA members be accommodated?

I think the final would be played at Adelaide Oval because of these factors.

Surely they could place some temporary seating in the construction area, right on the dirt patch infront of the new stand? I'd sit there, about 5 or 6 of the sixes hit last night landed right there!

Could fit 500 more people there standing, block off the rest of the site with fencing?

Didn't stop them doing it at Croke Park in the 2000 IR series :D (I also recognise Australian OHS standards are much, much higher than Irish OHS standards)

You can have a test match in about 15 years time where the players will be capable of scoring 450-500 in a day because of T20. This game develops cricket skills in so many ways - no time for 'warm ups' or 'getting the eye in', you need to be ready from ball one. 120 years of Test cricket couldn't teach this...

I keep hearing baseball and teeball comments about T20. How is it similar to either game? It's just quick cricket!

I'm not bagging Test cricket either, I love Test cricket. I love all cricket.

the one 'lowlight' out of both matches so far is the fact that if they are going to interview people in the crowd (wayne phillips & some attractive blonde) during breaks in the game, can they get a sound system that works PROPERLY....all you hear is noise from the interviewer & nothing from the crowd & i can't lip read

smac, do your stuff my friend ;)
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway
