Shyte!
I watched college football, ice hockey and the WWE all day thinking this was over.
WILL NOT be missing the hilites on Foxtel tonight.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

pakistan deserved to lose after their tactics this morning - that would have to be the most inept and just plain hopeless captaincy from yousuf i have ever seen from anyone at any level of cricket. to allow the partnership to get well beyond 100 before he tried to get a wicket and even then it seemed to be bowler initiated just completely dumfounds me.

if younus khan quit becuase he didnt have the support of the players surely yousuf has to go now for the good of pakistani cricket.

husseys century certainly wasnt meaningless but it shouldnt be rememebered as a great hundred when he was dropped 3 times to get to 50 and from then on hewas under no pressure as he could hit singles all day - watson 97 was a far more important innings.

hauritz is an ok test bowler but he isnt consecutive 5 wicket hauls good - as jj said tail enders swinging isnt great bowling

haddins keeping seems much improved this summer.

one interesting thing with the review system with the sami dismissal - if it is supposed to eliminate obvious errors then surely sami couldnt be given out as given hauritz didnt appeal, ponting wasnt very keen from silly point and watson (i think) at midwicket didnt appeal surley the error isnt obvious (even though hotspot showed an edge) it would have been very interesting to see what would have happened if kamran akmal had challenged his seeing hotspot didnt show up anything.

Is there another sport in the world that is played so much above the shoulders. For one reason or another, the majority of this aussie team still have the confidence (and/or arrogance) to believe they will win no matter what the situation. On the other hand the paikistani's are at the complete opposite end of the spectrum.
Well done to Hussey, Watson and the bowlers but the rest of the team needs to have a good hard look at themselves and find some form.

Footy is right there with it for the importance of mindset.

What a win though, another Australianism victory. Akmal losing his nut was the killer in the end you feel, but we find ways to pull these ones out like no other country.

As Mr Rooster said Ponting and Hughes played poor shots

Whats the forecast for the next 4 days lads ?
Anymore stoppages expected ?

Thought Id mention this
To all the people who have called KAT/WATTO chokers, look what happens to AU when they dont get to about 90 runs

Ricky Ponting might sleep well tonight, he might not have to think about when to declare !

will be lucky to get 199

AU 4/36 day 1 I spoke....

I love these forums...
Did not realise there were so many sporting experts going around..
Australia won a great test..
There is poor batting, poor fielding, poor bowling, poor captaincy at some time in every game of cricket played from test cricket to club cricket..

In the end they were good enough to win over all of the above..

Watson can't play, Hauritz can't bowl, Ponting can't captain, North is crap, Hussey got to go,
Blah Blah Blah...

Well done Australia.......
A great win..... =D> =D>

MAY-Z, it makes no difference to anything whether the bowler or any fielders appeal. It was clearly out. Haddin appealed very confidently and I can tell you that with those catches, the keeper knows.

On Haddin, I've thought his keeping until this match was very ordinary. He did a great job in this game, but I have to say something that will sound churlish, but I hope it's taken the right way. I've noticed that when he takes a catch that's not straightforward, he always makes it look harder than it is. In the first innings, he took a 'dolly' one-handed. I looked at his catch today, great as it was, and couldn't help wondering whether many of the great keepers would have needed to dive full-length, relying on earlier anticipation and footwork. Still a great catch and well done to him on his improvement, but just an observation.

JJ, I'm with RR, I feel sorry for you too.

I'd also like to say that Ponting's decision to bat first was a totally incorrect call. If he'd bowled first, he would have s... it in.

If there weren't so many experts, nothing would be happening in here. Its always good to read the opinions of others and realise that we all don't agree. Good win but the problems found in this test by the aussies can't be forgotten just because the opposition threw the game away.

The difference between the 2 teams

PA were 37 short of winning
SIDDLE made 38

He is bowling without luck
Im sure his day will come very very very soon

I guess that's what forums are for, to discuss and pass opinions. I have to admit I get a little annoyed sometimes with uneducated comment, but generally most of the regulars on this site know their cricket .. unlike a certain other website where most people know Jack. It would be boring if we all thought the same way.

You're right, that was a great Test Match, I just wish I hadn't spent the past 2 days at work. I left work this evening with the Pakis at 6/113, and got home to see Ponting's beaming face and knew the Aussies had got up again :)

Yes, there have been some top comments haven't there? All the Watson knockers, those calling for the sacking of Hussey, those saying Ponting lost us the Test by batting first, etc ... they've had a bad day :)

Congrats to Ricky. I'm not a great fan of his captaincy, but he's brought this one home, and all credit to him. Also to Hauritz who has stuck it up his critics two Tests in a row. Time will tell if he keeps improving.

And finally, to the poster who kept telling us how much he was going to win when the Pakis get up ... bad luck :)
