Agreed.

i'll add i believe 5 overs constitutes a game  i agree if the game doesn't go the full distant it should be a draw & i think the same for one dayers as well...or finish it the next day

It just leaves a sour taste in the mouth that you can win any game of cricket when you haven't made as many runs as the opposition.

Last night's Vic/Qld game was a beauty!! Too bad it was brought to an end by the rain, was shaping up for a classic finish with Phillpson in good form and Ben 'future gun' Cutting blasting it to all parts.

Decent crowd (typical Qld crowd...), good to see Symonds back, and lots of good cricket.

Victoria won due to their two recruits, Taylor (gem of an innings by this young star) and Bravo (batted well, fielded well, didn't bowl well).

Was a very good start to the T20 BB.

I have been a self professed critic on 20 over cricket, ON the maximised affect it will have on traditional cricket
Already we are seeing experienced players turning thier backs on domestic cricket to play in the Indian League
Brad Hodge who still has plenty to offer has renigged on a possible SS Grand Final , but will piss off to the IPL ?

But the actual game is a very entertaining 3 hour package to compare with AFL footy, soccer and other durating sports

Whatta day of cricket it was yesterday
Test Cricket seeing Watto, Aamir etc in a hard fought test game
Then put the feet up and watch Afridi, Gayle and others in a sensational 20 over game
And more
Then to watch Broad mauling South Africa in the Test match

I guess what yesterday meant was that there is a place on this planet for any cricket

The only lowlight is the programme time scheduling of the night big bash games
They clash with the last 20 minutes of Bonanza on Foxtel 152

Awesome effort last night by the 'Backs! Especially our 2 imports. Afridi is going to be worth his weight in gold, especially if he gets going with the bat. How important was his bowling last night??! How does he bowl his quicker one at 130 kph??? I need to see it in super slo-mo, he'd have to have some flex in his elbow surely! Obviously not enough for it to be a problem, but still... Good to see some of the locals contribute as well, mainly with the bat through Cossie and Borgas. Having said all that, we were lucky Gayle retired hurt when he did, otherwise the Warriors would have won in a canter. He SMASHED us! God we bowled some poo though! Poor old Cleary went for 51 off 3 overs! Very keen to see the boys strut their stuff in Adelaide soon. Should be good!

Hodge nearly cost the Vics that match tonight. How was his form too having a dig at Hussey for getting out when he did during that in-game interview. Some brilliant hitting from Hussey & Bravo saved the Vics.

HODGE
20/20 career
2406 runs
39-44 ave
129 strike rate

Was a trendsetter in 20/20 when most s/rates were closer to 100-100 in previous years
Did strike at bout 135+
Age is wearying
He is now struggling to score quickly
Great opportunity now for his critics to get stuck into him

As for batting for himself in this format of the game, absoloute frogshit
Vic has lost one game of 20/20 cricket in 4 years
HODGE has been the catalyst

Anybody heading in tonight? Think a few of the Valley boys will be there.

Was there last night NFC and youre right it was an amazing game. It was my first 20/20 live and i walked away thinking that was the best $ 10 I have ever spent. 20/20 is here to stay, I love it at state level. Test cricket will be always be my favourite but Im not sure how ODI's will survive I hope they do but they have an uphill battle on there hands.

Shaun Marsh has smashed a brilliant ton vs NSW.

Second 50 only took 21 balls.

WA 1/168 off 18 overs, Wes Robinson just got bowled for a very slow 54 off 55.

Finished 1/198 off their 20!

Marsh made 108*

As said by yours truly in the U/19 World Cup squad thread, i said it will be good for the public to see him bowl a fair bit in the World Cup. He has not really been needed so far for the WA side, but tonight showed he had promise to be a good number 6 that could bowl 5-10 overs.

Isnt Shaun Marsh in some good form in all three formats at the moment!
