And here in lies one of Englands achilles heels, Outide of Fintoff and Hoggard/Harmison their 3rd and 4th bowlers Harmison/Hoggard and either of the two listed above struggle and that lack of pressure will toll against them.

I've bracketed Harmison and Hoggard together as their best combined under Australian conditions is quality but consequently their worst combined is cannon fodder....When thhy were both here last time they got well and truly spanked....

So there is a big qustion mak over those two this series under the hot Australian sun in dry conditions, I'm tipping they'll be better than that they were in 2002-03 but not as good as they were on their home decks in 2005.

the ability of the POMS to maintain the pressure on us like they did in 2005 with their 4 quality quicks is going to severly diminished with no Jones and the likelihood that both Hoggard and the big dumb p***k will be below the standard they displayed in 2005.

If we bat properly and not like millionaires...well the kids have shon the gaps in the POMS attack our best six batsmen should be able to smash them

There wasn't a donkey on the field but a few large a55e5 in the form of Cosgrove, Jaques and Birt. Three tubby blokes that make REB smile..not all is lost for us fatba5tards.

However Eags, I wouldn't be reading too much into this result and here's why.

1. Manuka is a not the biggest ground with a top wicket.
2. Hoggard and Harmison did not play.
3. England is crap at one day cricket and today's match is under one day cricket conditions. There is a far bigger difference betweeen England's performance in the one day and test arena than there will be once the Test series starts.

Hilfenhaus is currently bowling Strauss into form.

I see Strauss as one of the two danger batsman for England - obviously the other is Pieterson. I think getting his wicket cheaply is crucial to the Aussies, and I can really see him having a successful tour somewhere around the lofty standards set by Vaughan in the 02/03 tour.

Bit harsh on Hilfenhaus. Strauss was already in good form for England in the Champions trophy and as I have said earlier, the track is a belter. Most pleasing is that Trescothick still hasn't learnt to move his feet and that will make him a sitting duck during the test series.

People keep telling me we have depth problems in Australia, that the youth isn't coming through. We could have picked a third team again from the available talent and still would have beaten the Poms.

The POMS have been living life like rock stars since the last ashes series, I question their Hunger and I feel that they will be very much under done for the 1st Test
