the adelaide uni bar used to get a solid working...even tho i was a student at the levels or mawson lakes as its known now...or the fly trap ;)

players was solid too..many many loose ladies there...and would always find a crow or two stumbling about.

grenfell tavern was up the road from a mates work so that was a regular meeting him for lunch beers or after work beers...there was one waitress there who we loved...still remember giving her my green st pats plastic hat back in 99 i reckon lol...

a usual satdy night out was the havey or alma, then work westwards...exchange was on the list until the jail bait arrived in the early 00's. anything on rundle street got a working over too...and if things got hairy, id find myself on the west side of KWR.

The resurrection of this thread made me reflect - I think the place was somewhere down Unley way - King William Rd or Unley Rd?
All I recall is that my wife and I went in only to please our host, and as we both valued our hearing we made our excuses to leave as soon as it was politely possible.
My wife was a classical musician, and I'm a high fidelity [not just thumping bass] nut.
Our host was the guy who ran a restaurant on the Port Rd under the name "Charlie Brown's" in the 1970s.

Shenannigan's - mainly for karaoke and to get on the 100 Pint Club board

The Tav at Flinders Uni - used to have a great turnout on Thursday nights before it all went to s**t with VSU. Loved the pints-for-schooners price days as well.

I must say though that I gave The Grande's Pier & Pine Bar a massive nudge on "No undie Sundies"

now apparently those boards are goneski :( :( :(

went down there for girls night outs, plus friday, saturday.

girls nights out were good, the first thursday night, me and my mate who were drinking at that stage to get into the 100 pint club were basically the only lads in a pub full of women!!!!! unfortunately about 3-4 weeks later, we organised a group of lads to go down, and then there were more blokes then women - shattering stuff :(

Yep, the Grand was pretty good back in the day!! :D

So to were (at various times) The Lakes, Havelock and Royal ... Anyone remember the pub on Dequeteville Tce (maybe the Hackney?), having nights where you'd pay like $5 and get free beer all night?
