Well, I for one bagged him after the First Test and was good to see how he responded, particularly his commitment with the bat. Also Nash and Bravo. Definitely happy to admit I was wrong, and glad of it too, because the last two were a couple of pretty good tests.
Agree with some of the comments here questioning his captaincy, esp:
Late on 4th day in Adelaide - perhaps his conservatism as captain is a bit like Allan Border's, who early on found a disaster around every corner.
His use of bowlers in the Perth Test, however they mentioned in the commentary that it was Roach's choice to bowl from what everyone thought was the "wrong" end. How Roach himself didn't notice it after his first two spells - one from either end - is probably the only downside to his impressive series.
It certinaly seemed like Bravo and Ramdin were better and more urgent strategically on the field, occasionally Gayle seemed to let the game drift, but he seems to be able to gel the players well and they play for him, and perhaps a unifying figure was needed after the last year or so of Windies cricket.
