mmmm.......seems your hot on my tail! Teena def had a great season, our top goal scorer by far, lost a heap of respect from players within the side after his no show on semi final day, i guess some people put the bottle before a semi final.....

Im not too good with names but going from playing against all sides bar yours (I wont include Na Fianna players because I havent played them) there are a few standouts,

Bloke from Mitcham, Carey i think his name was impressed me
Gabe and Anto from Onkas both dominated against us
Some big tall guy in the midfield from WI was a gun and gags?? (not sure of his name) played really well

Sorry not sure on the rest, few WI boys are pretty good, (as much as it pains me to say!) beat us easily in round 1
St Brendans have some really good runners through the midfield but once again not sure on names!

i do my best mate. At worst you might see a midfielder on a half forward flank or a key position player playing on a different line to normal.
the teams make up reflects the eveness of the top 5 as well with all clubs well represented.the bottom 2 not so.

TEAM OF THE HALF YEAR

F ; GAGS (WI) JOLLY (NAF) STERLING (F) PANEL
HF; CAREY (M) ANTO (ONK) A.MACCOLINO (ONK) 1. TOWNSEND (F)- forwards
M; GABE (ONK) McSORELY (F) 2. JOHNNY PEG (STB)
HB; AYSH (ONK) DELVINS (NAF) DAIKES (IA) 3. KLUNNY (WI)- midfielders
B; D.FLO (WI) ZUES-CAPT (STB) J.FLO (WI) 4. ASTON (NAF)
GOALS NICHOLLS (WI) 5. CLINT (ONK)- defenders
6. O,RIELLY (NAF)
7. BRYANT (NAF)
8. SAUNDERS (ONK)- utilities
9. WHITTO (ONK)
10. FENNO (STB)

well there you have it. just a couple of quick points b4 the debates begin
- each team is represented in the starting line up
- players have been picked in position, best example- klunny was awesome but imo the 3rd most damaging midfielder thus on the bench
- zues is the skipper, wade is vc. they were the 2 outstanding leaders imo and zues just gets the nodd as he is in the starting line up
- reps break down is onk-7, wi-5, naf-5, flind-3, st.b-3, ia-1, m-1...seems a fair balance to me
- note that i did see every game of the mens season bar 2
-im almost certain that every player in the team has gained association votes for the medal (not sure on naf)
FINALLY,THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION.WHILST THIS TEAM MAY BE USED AS A GUIDE FOR THE TEAM OF THE YEAR ,IT IN NO WAY GARAUNTEES SELECTION .

Good effort there Wristy. I think you would have seen the most of all teams out of anyone so very hard to argue. Look forward to seeing your end of year team in March. Out of curiosity when that time comes will more emphasis be put on performances in the Hannigan Cup as that is widely considered the more important competition...?

Have you been able to narrow down who might get the waterboy gig...?

Not a bad effort, looks good from what players i can remember playing against
In relation to our team i would have put townsend on infront of the love child imo.
Didnt think saunders perforfance this season warranted selection, seems he was picked more on reputation.

I understand what your saying as he had a slow start to the season and a shocker against your boys but his game in the semi was excellent and was one of the main reasons Onk were able to turn the game in the second half. Also he was the best midfielder in the GF. Some said BOG which in itself makes a strong case for selection.
As for the rhys or the love child debate, i reckon they both polled twice and both showed some of the best skills in the league. It could of gone either way. i hope for your clubs sake Toddy has had enough Queensland Sun and Rhys is back for all games in the Hannigan Cup. If you have them each week the Hannigan Cup really will be a 5 horse race.

Am certainly not the Prez wristy - tho i have upon occasion dubbed myself the Overlord of Gaelic Football in SA... and there are a few more important issues hiding in your closet than Mudgey - and im sure they will come out in due course - Much like the Gaelic Football schedule...

Pretty sure the first ball up (is that even what its called?) of the Gaelic season will be the weekend of the 8th/10th of Jan. Still some issues with how many teams will be nominating (mainly on the girls side) so hence the delay in the schedule - thanks for your patience... The Grand Final again to be played on the Sunday before the public holiday - and we are looking at passing legislation that makes its mandatory for the Hannigan Cup champions to front up to either Future Music of Adelaide Cup wearing premiership jerseys...

I've heard that the Wristwatcher's closet has a revolving door.
My mail is that program is just going through some final tweaking and should be available any time now.
Bring back O'Neills footballs. Get rid of the Pakistani pigskins - they fall to the ground like loaded dice and bounce around like Mexican jumping beans.

Thankyou Mr Prez/Overlord and Mr ex Prez. Looking forward to seeing the draw Asap so i can organise the mens ref,s draw and start the delicate negotiations with the footy club to avoid clashes where ever possible.
As for my closet, i have a walk in wardrobe. I also have a near 100% record of complete heterosexuality. Just the one well publicised blemish on that fatefull night at Crown Casino 2004 with an extremely attractive post op transvestite. To quote Steven Cooke (Aucland Minor footballer)..."Hey Tommy bro, Your missus has got reeelly big feet ey bro"

Fingers crossed we will get the players out, im thinking we will.....although I think our best gaelic was played minus the love child but certainly better having him in the side! Think the depth we had during the year (minus the semi) was our big improvement.

Fair point about saunders but I can only go by what i saw in our game and he looked very slow, ill be eying off that full back position in the second half of the season.....:)
