Was the 2010 premiership cup drunk out of?

I knew I should have left the last line of my post that said....not that a good feeling will mean success!

Have been to a few of CD's members nights over the years, crowd last night by far the biggest i have seen and great to see alot of players in attendance not just those who were there to be introduced and interviewed.

As for the cup, the 2010 version will be the same as 2009 and im guessing at the moment that would still be a bottomless cup out at Elizabeth wouldn't it???? ;)

Agreed, a great night at the club last night. Turnout from the members was fantastic - club would have done well from the bar takings I reckon. Club appears to be making some big efforts towards making the members as engaged as possible.

Well unfortunately I am not a lady from Marden, and neither is any of my family :(
But I'm not greedy, $500 would do me.

Gees, I can't remember the last time the Club had that many people in it! Had a fantastic time and was great to see so many players there mingling with us little people.

Well done on the raffle microphone CD. Even had a quick chat with Micky I reckon just after he had got the good oil from the Coach and CEO!

Well firstly I must apologise for not posting last night .I got caught up after the event and I've had a very long day at work .

So where do we begin this .My second meet the coach and players night. And what a difference from the beginning of 09 until the end of 09.
A new coach a new feeling around members and what a crowd .For me there was between 400 to 500.And they were parked all over the place !!
A very good interview by Abel with "gods".What a great bloke "gods" is .What a difference
Abels interviews of Parry and Welsh .Parry's comments on souths preseason and lack of older players interesting .and his two clubs of choice to play for the bays and us .
Welsh another interesting interview .Great to hear him talk about west under 17's and onwards to the Roo's and us .And didn't he get a great cheer when he pointed and hit the premiership wall/photo's saying we want more of them(loud clapping and cheers)!! Plus contrary to what's been put on the net he was in talks with West. And "god" called him up on the phone and the rest is history!!
Now the comment of the night a guy who may well turn into an eagle legend if he lasts long enough ;) Was James Rimmington we will play more flamboyantly this year!! Now that will be a great change in Eagles Playing style !!
As reported by Matt1 (Still have no idea who u are ) I was in talks with the CEO and the Coach .A nice bloke (like Booney told me while fishing)and yes Eagle fans I told him and asked him .If it was ok for us to say we are in "GODS ARMY"He had the biggest smile and laughed his head off and loved the idea of 2000- 3000(Cd better get working) screaming Eagle fans all wearing Eagle coloured t shirts which all would be written with " a member of GODS army" on the front .Love the back to say "stationed at fortress woodville"
And just for those interested Kurt loves the idea of oval ave being Fortress woodville!!!(perhaps I have woken up to who matt1 is ;) )

Now one of the oddest moments of the night was when Cd almost wore a xmas ham in a very awkward spot ;)

And take it from me my first year of watching pre pre season training. The Eagles players are fitter than this time last year .And the older players are not all strapped up with tape.
So watch out SANFL the Eagles are taller and fitter than ever before.
Fortess Woodville is going to be harder to win at take it from me guys

And for everyone who is not an Eagles fan tough luck ;)
Bring on February 27th

Cheers

The principle of being positive does not mean talking about premiership already, but it does mean at least an improvement on last year. What's wrong with being positive? Is it supposed to breed complacency?

Not at all. I'm saying being positive does not mean the premiership is in the bag at this moment.

But there is nothing wrong with aiming for the flag. Otherwise you may as well not bother playing.

I thought the quote of the night was also from Rimington when he stated that the difference between Ron and Godden was that it was nice to get smile from the coach now.
Very positive night at the club, now they have to put words into action.
The hierarchy seemed to think that with Fuller gone, players who were in his 'bad' book will get a better go especially Cheep who looks a refreshed player apparently.

Thank you to all who attended last night.

Was a great night for the club and i reckon all who attended would have really enjoyed themselves.

The couple of little surprises of the free Yalumba wine tasting and Santa's guest appearance added to the night.

I reckon the staff of the club did a great job with the organising and Abel's interviews were very very informative. Fantastic to have all the senior players attending too.

Micky - I was safe with the ham even with my smart comment as the winner wouldnt have wasted it on me!!!!! ;)

I know of one young eagle who wished he had some of the red and not a sparkling white .someone wont tease me again ;) well for a few minutes lol
You might be safe Cd but your pre pre season supply of mince pies might be in jeopardy!!!
I even managed a chat with some of the senior guys .I think they enjoyed the fact some of "GODS ARMY " have been sitting in the
" newer "thebie stand .even more impressed we did it on an over 40c day .

Any word CD on how many were there Thursday night ?
We all forgot about PhilH he has a tough job ahead of him IMHO.But there were a few youngsters there thursday night .

yeah I did hear that missed it was from Rimington.

I watched Cheap in a group who had missed the 3k trial earlier in the Pre Pre Season. On Monday night he was in the top 2 for most of the run may have won it in the end .
Wedgetail looking at some of the training drills expect a more agile (if thats the right word) Eagles team.

Also we forgot to mention Scot Welsh trying to talk Biglands out of retirement. And I've seen him without his shirt looks very fit .Doing a good job teaching the young rucks !!
