Personally , I think your Magpies will take Butcher at no. 2 .
whatever wrote:I would like it to go something like this

1. Panthers - jack gunston
2. Port Magpies - andrew moore
3. West - Cameron Cloke
4. North - Daniel Talia
5. Eagles - Scott Harding
6. Glenelg - Jasper McMillan-Pittard
7. Sturt - Luke Thompson
8. Central - John Butcher
9. Panthers - Sam Shaw
10. Port Magpies - Daniel Bass

This is not based on who is best but which club is likely to be best for each player taking into account what oppurtunities lie at which club and what club currently already has a bias towards one of the AFL clubs already.

As an Eagles supporter I'm hoping we're going to be lucky enough to get Daniel Talia but at number 5 pick I think we'll be pushing it - would be very surprised if he didn't go in the top 3 picks.

Scott Harding also wouldn't be a pick that I would be disapointed to be getting. Described on wikipedia as a hardnosed midfielder could be exactly what the Eagles need.

I think Westies will take Harding if he is still there.

David Rodan has apparently done his knee at training this morning, so Harding may actually play a few games for Port next year.

No part of their penalty for the salary cap breach.

But this is not inlcuded as part of Norwoods Salary Cap as they are AFL listed players.

Every time an AFL player plays for an SANFL club, there is a notional amount, $350 I think, attributed to the salary cap.

It has 0 to do with how or what they're paid. The penalty prohibits the registration of players from outside their zone, that's why they're not in the mini draft.

Spot on ... As an aside, someone pointed out our reliance on AFL players will have dropped from 11 in 2008 to 3 next season - Sure it could cause some pain initially, but in the long run Im not upset about it at all.
