That would be against site rules Gowser.

I just edited my post as well i meant they might do so as they did do it against Coro.

I don't see why they wouldn't Moe, they played a twilight game against Coro.

Maybe you could ask someone from the Ramblers?

Or better yet get Grant Whellum convinced a twilight is the better option first, cause he's agreed to a sunday game.

We'd be happy for a twilight game, Coro guys were against it after the last meeting. Team batting second can barely see the ball apparently.

Interesting - I didn't hear too many complaints from our batsmen.

Funnily enough, we got lucky thanks to the dark after I skied one which went above the light towers and the fielder lost sight of it altogether - I was batting @ 10 still needing a quite a few. So it potentially saved us the game. Definitely difficult for both sides in the 2nd innings.

I guess we can discuss it again tonight @ training? I don't speak for the club anymore, so take this with a grain of salt.

AF was commenting at the association meeting, as i took it, about the second innings being more difficult than the first for batting due to the way the pitch faced. I think that is what SG is alluding to.

Ahh I see. Yeah that's a Blackwood Footy Oval issue more than anything. The actual playing conditions were very good except for just one light pole that was in the wrong spot for cricket (which it was never intended to be for anyway).

Yeah something like that, would be interesting playing under lights but needs to be fair for both sides. Think Moe's just starting s*** again.

I beleive its a Morphy Pk home game, the lights there would be no good for cricket.

I mentioned on this forum that when we opened the batting in the 2nd innings it was terrible batting conditions because of the sun going down behind the pitch. The lights are no problem and I don't see any issues with batting 2nd apart from sunset. Not much can be done to fix this except wait for the sun to go down before starting 2nd dig which is too late in Jan when we are due to play. Another venue with quality lights would be the only option for a night game.

Personally I like the twilight fixtures, but not everyone agress. For now it will be a sunday arvo on 17th Jan at Hawthorndene unless there's another suitable option.
