If a juniors that once played at your club gets drafted what the return to the junior club, I am of the understanding that you might get a return when drafted then at different stages when they play, such as 1st game, 50th game, 100th game etc.

Around 2.5k, then a drip after the 1st, 20th, 50th & so on.
Just check that your club is the one nominated.

Golden Grove have just had their second ever player drafted into the AFL after Shane Edwards went to Richmond a few years ago with Daniel Menzel being drafted to Geelong. Well done Daniel !!
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

The SANFL get the sign on (transfer) fee from AFL. They distribute a payment back to the player's SANFL club and to the local clubs assoc/leage. The Assoc/League pass a dividend back to player's junior club.

Danny Meyer played for Sacred Heart as well, but nominated Flagstaff Hill FC. The AFL won't pay to Colleges anyway, only their local clubs where they played at least 25 games whilst aged between 14 -16 years (I think).

When Adam Cooney & Danny Meyer were drafted, Flagstaff Hill FC got $2000 for them signing on.
Not sure what SANFL, West/Glenelg and SFL got though. When they get to 10 games we get more $$ but not sure how much.

From NAB we also got $1000 when Adam won Rising Star Weekly Award, and $1200 worth of top class Sherrins when Danny kicked a 9pt goal in the NAB Cup last year.

Apparantly the money goes to whoever the player played for in 15's & 16's. Pretty unfair considering the time & effort some clubs put into a young kid & in some cases their families.
Jess OBrian played for Freeling from the year dot till he played for PNU u15's & maybe 16's, PNU get the kudos & payout.
Danyle Pearce played over 100 games for Fitzroy, one u15's season for Edwardstown & as far as I know Edwardstown or Sturt got the bikkies, funnily enough when Danyle came back to the Roys for a training session & was presented with a 100 game polo he nominated Fitzroy as the club to receive the $1000 worth of footys when he kicked the 1st supergoal in the NAB cup.

I'm still a little unsure what happens if the drafted played nominates the club he played most of his junior career as opposed to the club he played 1 or 2 of his later years with. Obrian nominated NAFC as his junior club, so maybe neither will profit from his drafting.

edit- I'll see what I can find out in the next few days.
