Should change training to Wednesdays so the boys can justify 2 nights on the grog mid week, cricket training at the Royal Wednesday's and the golf club on Thursday's.

I'll show some moral interest lads. Most importantly how did Hazbeen and The Jack fair with the bat and ball on the weekend?

Not sure Hazbeen was involved with cricket on the weekend, but I went to Ardrossan on Sunday (of all days!) and played a major part in us losing both of our games to Yorke and then Lower Yorke respectively! Nah, it wasn't that bad, except in the field. You would have thought I'd left my contacts at home, the way I wasn't seeing them off the bat in the covers! Managed to chest mark a catch in the gully to redeem some credibility. Obviously still in footy mode. Still got a bruise on my sternum! With the bat, I didn't get out, but didn't get too many either. With the ball, for my one over in the 2nd game, all went well after the first 3 balls went for 14! My chinamens weren't coming out too well the first two, and were deservedly dispatched for 4. The 3rd one was right up there, and then ended up right on the roof of the clubrooms! And when one of the opposition climbed up there to retrieve the bloody thing, he jumped down on to the verandah and put a big hole in the roof! Lucky he didn't go straight through, or he'd be in hospital still I reckon. Anyway, it hastened the end of the game, which we were probably in reality never going to win. Some good cricketers down that way. One bloke made 92 against us in the 1st game, bit unlucky not to get his 100 too, still plenty of time. It served its purpose for us though in having a decent hit before our first proper game this week. All of our batsmen spent some good time in the middle over the two games, so hopefully we can hit the ground running.

How's things in Lower Gilbert? 20/20 games proving popular with the lads? Its only for the first 5 weeks isn't it?

he's never got me out, and ive taken him for a bucket load of runs, you work it out swamp!, but dont get me wrong he is a good cricketer

Witnessed a streak at the Lower North vs Sevenhill game on Saturday. The nude runner charged from the fence, knocked the bails off, then returned to the applause of the 30 others from his bus. All this just before Ryan Darling put the bowler back over his head for 6 to notch up an unbeaten ton.

Will be interesting to see how Long Plains go in this league. My tip is they will be pretty inconsistent as they havn't taken their cricket seriously until late in the season the past 5 or so years, but at their best will be quite competitive but at worst will put up some average performances.
I know that they have recruited 2 reasonably good bats and possibly a wicky/batter but probably do need an extra bowler or two.

could well be, had a stint with prospect a couple of years back didnt he??? or was rumored to???... is he living in town? i see him in the broady most wednesday nights with a few of the other adelaide based cats so it would be a lot easier to play down here i would have thought

Mate you havn't seen me bat then have you! You know that I'm just a specialist 12th man in Grand Finals that fields at point for an over or two until every one rocks up!

Na, the only thing I'll be swinging this year is my Callaway FTi driver on a Thursday night and my Babolat Aero Pro Drive on a Saturday. May fill for a game or two of cricket though!
