Shahid Afridi a Redback

First Class Cricket Talk (International and State)

I think you can only have one import in Shield/one-day cricket (like we did with Younis Khan last season)? All the state sides are loading up on their T20 teams obviously to try and qualify for the Champions League and the vast majority of the contracts are just for the T20 games (again like we did with Sohail Tanvir last season) but I think Victoria are trying to get Dwayne Bravo to play for them full-time not just in the T20's when not on international duties.

WA have already signed Chris Gayle for their T20 games too.

For historical sake only, this was Shahid Afridis' first match at the Adelaide Oval, in 1996.

When do the 20/20s start up? Is Afridi still playing?

Haha. :) I was there too with Dad, but on the garden seats north of the members area. I recall Healy going for the slog but only making it to mid-on giving Pakistan victory, and taking down some of the scores during the day (typically).

Probably not the right spot for it but Victoria have signed fromer Redback Sohail Tanvir for their T20 games.

Victorias international player could well struggle to get a game for them! I think they already have Dwayne Bravo.

Therefore that makes it Nannes, Harwood (if back from injury), McKay, Siddle (after tests have finished if he is available, but not sure on dates), Bravo, plus the two spinners that will play, McGain and Holland, with holland more likely to get a gig and even Damien Wright.

They could well make it hard for Tanvir to get a game!

Victorias fast bowling injury list

Nannes
Harwood - season
Wright
D.Pattionson
S.Gilmour

Siddle will be on Australian dutys and possibly McKay, I think Tanvir will take new ball, theres not much left.
