I would like to start the discussion about our senior squad guernsey numbers for both the A grade and B grade .

I think that each player should have their own number in their own size no matter what grade that they will play.

This means if they get picked for the A grade then they will take their guernsey to the A grade and vise versa for the B grade.

what are everyone's thoughts??

Guernseys should be 1-60, everyone having their own number therefore no issues will occur. It does not matter what grade -you play you keep the same number, if we changed to 1-30 in both grades it would cause alot of trouble. For example, if a new lad or junior at the club is playin A grade and is number 7, then they get dropped that would mean that they would take number 7 in B grade taking over the likes of a player such as steve walker who has been at the club for a long time. Having numbers 1-30 in each grade makes no sense, all clubs in sanfl and the afl for that fact give their players a number and they stick with that no matter what grade they play!

Sorry to contradict you, but doesn't happen at Glenelg. In fact Alex Carey wore number 10, number 42, and number 45 last season, all whilst playing Reserves.

The reason I thought Mclaren was that I went to market square after watching them run the hill and there was 1 car and a van with Mclaren Eagles stickers on the back window.

also, pretty regulary, you'll see an AFL player thats been dropped to the VFL wearing a number in the 50's or 60's, instead of their AFL playing number. may only be regular AFL players (this year remember seeing Anthony Rocca wearing something like 53 and matty richardson also wering a high number)

young kids that are in and out of the senior side may keep their numbers though, i'm not too sure.
