Agree with you about coaxing young fellas as this is obviously what Tailem have done since he made his decision to play at Marion. Alot of conversation on here, if only the same was done from the young fella. We have let two 2010 contract players go this year so stop pointing bullshit allegations towards the club. I agree if someone doesn't want to be there what is the point of having them. So everyone back the f$#@ down and we will wait and see where it goes as at the moment Marion FC have not been informed or contacted by the young fella or Tailem. Until then you are all throwing s%$t at a unknown result. ;)

Just reading the talk about Daniel. Has Daniel received any money as part of his signing the contract? If so when does he officially not become a Tailem Bend player and become a marion player if no clearance has been lodged yet as clearances dont officially get lodge until middle of January 2010.

Is everything always about money? Can a player not return to his home club, because he loves it? Surely there is something left in our society that says loyalty!!!!!! or am I not in the real world????????

I fully agree with u Incog, however, these kids do need to realise that every action has a consequence. If he signs a contract, that club has ticked off a box for themselves, & at this time of year those boxes are hard to tick! If he had thought of going home why sign? These kids (who haven't amounted to anything really other then under age SANFL) go chasing or lured by $$$ need to ask themselves A, Can I handle the pressure & the knives if I play a bad game B, Am I really playing for the right reasons. If they cant answer yes to both, then put the pen away.

No kid will ever think like that though Goldberg. I completely agree with your sentiments, but the youngster would have to be super switched on upstairs, which lets face it, most footballers under the age of 19 are not.

Its all good for teams to make a stand, but when you have clubs like Meningie paying $1000 a week for a small midfielder, loyalty no longer exists....makes it very hard for clubs to retain juniors etc, when $$ like this is being thrown around left right and centre....same at Torrens Valley, the money tree up there must be on Steroids!!! ;)

Not saying its right to pay $1000 a game but for clubs like Meningie to stay competative in this league they need to pay players more money purely because of distance from Adelaide.

$1000 for anyone to play regional footy anywhere is ludicrous!

Don't the new SACFL contracts state that they are only valid once a registration and clearance form has been lodged with the league. Given that I would say his Marion contract isn't valid yet!
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

If anyone signs a SANFL contract they have no way of getting out of it unless the club they have signed for agrees to let them go. Also clubs can not exchange money, or pay out contracts etc under the wording of Sanfl rule book i believe. You can appeal it but i dont like his chances as i've been through this process with players before. Clearence or not, if hes signed hes at the contracted club next year or he sits out of footy for the lenegth of the contract.

Perhaps I'm wrong but I thought that the SANFL contracts have been superseeded by the new SACFL contracts. Only happened in the last month.
