seems that there is a lot of resemblance between soccer and port then..

Sorry, how do you make such an assumption?

how many people would go to the mcg to watch the aussies in a world cup game?? how many people would go to a world cup final at the G?? even if that was the only 2 games played it would be worth it surely?? i am not a big soccer fan but the atmosphere at just those 2 games would be electric.. but i guess you are not used of that...

Of the course the atmosphere at those soccer matches would be electric, electric from all the tasers keeping the crowds under control....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Bit harsh calling him a troll as both crowds are poor relatively speaking.

The FIFA World Cup has the largest television audience of any sports event in the world. More viewers than the Olympics. It attracts sports fans from around the world. Why wouldn't you want to be hosting that?

The AFL Grand Final has undeniable atmosphere. If you were in Sydney in September 2000, you would appreciate the quantum leap in buzz generated by such a world event.

Australia won't get the world cup. Our time zones don't match up with the majority of the audience. So any discussion about Adelaide oval hosting world cup soccer matches is irrelevant

Ok , I'll go slowly.

I was referring to soccer crowds to show that soccer in this country at this point in time is not drawing very big crowds ( not like it was 3 years ago any way ).

You brought Port's crowds up, not me.

WTF does Port's home game attendances have to do with what I was discussing?

Precisely why it is unlikely to happen again unless you can advertise directly to at least 100 million people (Japan Korea or China) TV execs in Europe and US are still spewing about it....

Not in 2007. But I'm not sure that Booney was amongst the Cat love in that day.

I got the impression from Steven Trigg's interview on 5AA during the week that the Crows wouldn't have been unhappy to stay at AAMI and that the club is supporting the plan because all parties agreed to show a united front. This makes sense as most of our home games at AAMI are sold out or close to it.

That's not to say I think they are against the move, just that they are the stakeholder with the least to gain out of it.
In between signatures .....
