Not really....

I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Seeing the rubbishy tv ads and the ads on the bus stops etc for Westpac, trying to show you how great they are, whilst at the same time they increase their interest rates by nearly double that of the increase in official interest rates  :-q L-)

I personally think that the banks have an "unspoken agreement" that they will take turns in sharing the negative press when it comes to interest rates, either through being the first ones to increase the rates, or by being the ones to increase them by more than official interest rate increases.

When a catalogue says 'sale starts today' - so you go in there to buy said product 1 hour !! after the shop opens and get told - sorry - sold out  won't be getting any in until after the new year.

So mad/disappointed - not to mention special trip/time wasted !!

Advertisements in catalogues are frequently no more than bait to get people through the doors.

Some years back I went to a department store at Marion to purchase an MP3 player at a too-good-to-be-true advertised price. I got there within an hour of the opening time, to be told that the ONLY ONE they had in stock had already been sold. The salesdroid then started giving me the hard sell on another brand of MP3 player. So I tried another of the department store's branches. That branch claimed not to have any stock in the first place.

Two stores, with exactly ONE of the advertised item between them. Sheesh....

It's just not cricket :(

And you can't put anything on hold either - so no use ringing and saying I'll be there in 30 mins or whatever.

I liked it when we lived at Ayers Rock because the nearest shops were 4 hours away so they had no problem putting anything on hold or sending it out as a 'bush order' *sigh*

The sales assistant told me they "Had heaps" but people were buying 6 at a time - yeah right !
Actually they probably were - maybe I'll head over to E-Bay...lol.

I think the UK have fairly strict laws assosciated with "sales".

My current boss ( from Lemington Spa in the UK ) is surprised how many shops / business' have a "SALE" sign out the front that is sun damaged and has clearly been there for some time.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

Actually, yes you should. That's why the DNCR is there in the first place - the offending company can cop massive fines for not complying..

I'd say correct there FC after the phone call I just had.

Just had a call - first one since I re-registered and the lady was doing her normal scripted speil and I butted in and said
"Actually I'm on the do not call register"

"Oh I'm so sorry madam, goodbye"

O:)
