Anyone else remember the Talking Coke Machine in Victoria Square, near the SGIC building?

Sure do! I reckon there was one in Hindley St too, or somewhere near the Railway Station.

OT but does anyone else remember the "go charger" advert on the teev many years back? lmao at the dude giving the two finger salute (not really think it was the v victory sign) and saying "go charger" (advertising the new car) well we thought it was hil-hairy-ass.... my friends and i would walk around mimicking that guy.. "go charger" of course turning the sign around! lol

My mates' brother in law used to run it at one point. I think after the third or fourth time it got run into by a car, he decided to get out.

I remember when the cinema was built they said that the cart had to go. I think ultimately the council was the ones who decided.

It was a Cowley's pie cart from memory, and they did have the best floaters, I agree.

When did Rage stop doing the Australian Top 50 countdown on Saturday mornings? :?

That was a tradition that I used to get up at 5.30am on Saturdays for, each week when growing up, from about 1987 onwards. Best way to find out the Top 50 before ARIA printed the weekly chart.

Seems to have disappeared lately.

I used to watch it too.

Used to wind up at about 10am in the late 90s.

It's been gone for at least 3 years

When it was first dropped I fought with emails and letters with no response at the time other than "programming changes ...." I used to tape it and then watch it later, fast forwarding where needed.

If you want to keep up to date nowadays, Foxtel have a couple of top 10 countdowns each week including (pretty sure) an ARIA one on MTV

I reckon I have also seen an Australian top 50 clip countdown on Fox but I can't be sure if it's the official ARIA top 50.
In between signatures .....

Know the Casino one and the Norwood Parade one were got rid of, could never understand why either went, both did a roaring trade, remember one particular morning at the Vic Square one with Mick Redden, Darren Jarman and co, was a real treat to watch those guys eat a floater

At my workplace the social club sells chockies on the cheap out of the lunch room. Wagon Wheels have recently been in stock. Bought a couple within the last week or two.
