Well it may impact on a SANFL club I guess. Who's their next best tall, running defender? Davis? Someone will probably lose a player they were banking on.

Sounds like a role that Coad would fit well. Oops, scratch that, pretend I said nothing

Not a chance. The agility required to be a running HBF is not Coad's strength

Heard all the rumours about every man and his dog being linked to Sturt but the only one I've heard as fact is Hassan.

Must have been watching Chambers.....I would be quite happy if the crows picked up Coad, very versatile, great defender and could easily slot up forward if need be

Hinge to cover Coad YES

Giles would be a good pick up for the Blues in my opinion
They ran out of ruckmen last season at the crunch time
He would be a good foil for Chambo when resting forward
If I was Sturt I would make every endeavour to sign up Giles

Quite a few of you Bay supporters are more than precious when it comes to discussing Glenelg- the only decent response of had out of anyone is that "we haven't lost anyone that we've wanted to keep".

I don't think we've heard the last of departures from Brighton Rd either...

Havent lost anyone we wanted to keep??

I'd be exceptionally disappointed if that meant the club didnt want to keep Fisher, Block, Holmes, Leibelt and McGregor. I'd have though a 20 year old captain of your premiership winning ressies side (Day) and an awesome clubman in Duldig would be valuable as well....

The rumor was true I do believe Punk. But he has signed on for 2010 after spending last weekend contemplating his future. The possible demise of the Maggie sin 2011 swayed him back Glenelgs way.

I dare say the club would be disappointed that they left but in all reality, who's to say Fish or Block could've played league footy next year in the current injury concerns, Fish couldn't train and the same applied to Blocky. A bit different training twice a week for an hour or so compared to the almost full time training of a SANFL player. Holmes & McGregor realise the AFL dream is over, and why would they train full time when they can play country footy for more $$$. Holmes only played a handful of games this year and Lachie 1 ! Day has played 3 senior games in total and NONE this year. Not good enough for the A's. Liebs was a honest defender, but with Sam Rudolph signing on his chances for a league spot were slim. Dogger wanted to play but his SANFL job prevents him from doing so. Hooray !! Good luck lads, and bring on the young kids from the 18's !!

Another fringe Central player who made an appearance in the finals this year will more than likely not be playing for the Dogs this season.

You could say that about the whole Central side, this is what makes champion SANFL sides, being able to hold players who know the AFL dream is over but have aspirations at the next highest level.
