crikey, I don't know where to start, and not having had a new phone for over 2 years I might be excited about things other phones have had for ages. I'll try and write something that's comprehensive in the near future and post it. A mate texted me the other day saying I'd be blown away and I doubted it but it has and tnen moreso after only 24 hours of use. Never had anything made by apple previously too so it's not like I have any loyalty to them either.

Best way to describe the new iPhone, is it's the Ducks Nuts. Who ever put you onto the iPhone Wedgie, is a smart man.

Agreed! Best piece of technology I've ever bought, even got the missus one despite her having 4 months left on her current phone. Got an even better deal when I rang up too, the missus could stay on the $29 plan, pay $20pm for the phone and get 1gb download a month thrown in for free! Spewing I went to a shop for mine!
It's not perfect but it's so far ahead of anything else on the marker it's not funny.
I must get around go writing up that review for Diss.

3 mate, but that was over the phone and they said I got the free 1gb download per month because Id been a good customer for quite a while. Even if you haven't been with them still worth a try if you tell them what someone else got. Just remember you can use an Iphone as a modem and use that gb with a laptop too.

I push files with Bluetooth often, so that would annoy me.
And I use video calls to talk to my daughter - again that would annoy me.

Those two things are making me not want one, but there are some good points that make me want one.

Unfortunately I'd have to buy one outright.

Just got one ...very much a toy with plenty of goodies. Funny enough, as a phone it's fairly ordinary, but overall is very impressive. If you're smart with your use of wifi, then you won't need more than 300Mb of data on 3G.

As a phone its much better than my last two, a Palm and a Nokia, get terrible reception down at my place as we're in a black spot but the Iphone is the best phone out of half a dozen I've had as far as sound quality and reception goes.

Whenever you get the chance, Weginald, post a review. I've read reviews of the iPhone on the net, but it's always better to hear what a "real" person thinks. I'm also curious as to why you were quite "I won't get one" at the start of this thread, to your obvious like of one now. What changed, or what convinced you to get it? Was there one particular killer app, or did it just get better over the year in many small ways, or something else?

Not sure about other carriers but with 3 you can just take it to a store and they'll activate it for you, my missus had to do this as she got her phone delivered the moment she was walking out the door to fly to Canberra.
You will need Itunes or something similar up and running soon though if you want to add music, etc to it.
I despise iTunes but haven't had a problem of it freezing a pc yet on 3 different computers.
