All bar one gets a start and doesnt deliver, Aust now 5/287, may even struggle to get 400 unless someone turns a start into a ton

Dont be discouraged SS
REB and I have been wrong in the past as well

AU 5/322
NORTH 42*
SECOND BEST BATTING KEEPER IN AUSTRALIAN HISTORY 9*

It was a shame TAYLOR was injured
TAYLOR and ROACH are two very good fast bowlers
BRAVO goes OK
BENN will get better
For AU to get 5/322 was a good effort

ROACH 1/50[16] bowled better than his figures showed

WI are the 8th ranked side in the world and yet they have some good players
Whats the problem then ?
A they cant catch
B ordinary outfielders
C a captain who overbowls himself
D they at times go missing when the pressure is on
Etc Etc

Benn would want to get better, his fielding today gave away about 30 runs.

His bowling looked okay though. Lots of improv left in him. But why, oh why would a man of Joel Garner's size want to bowl spin?

"Right now they're 322, so I would say 350 at the most they will score." Quizzed further about whether West Indies had a chance of winning the match, he momentarily bristled. "Of course," Roach continued. "We're always confident. We didn't just come here to play cricket, we came here to win."

Good to see young enthusiasm from Roach

Australia should be disapointed. 5/322 with most batsmen getting a start. But credit to the windies, there bowlers kept at it and a combination of some good bowling at times and some ordinary shot selection has seen then take a few wickets.

The game will be over by the end of the fourth day (providing we don't have any rain). I'll put money on it.
So you've seen everything have you?

Certainly has the right attitude but he's kidding himself if he thinks Australia will not make more than 350. More realistic would be to aim to restrict Australia to under 450 but who knows, maybe the Windies will take 5 for 28 this morning

If Chris Gayle has half a brain he will dissect Marcus North this morning
North plays one very productive shot against expessive bowling
He cuts and it could go between the arc of fly slip and point
If Chris decides to use his brain cell he will have a deep fly slip a deep backward point and get Roach + co to bowl throatbusters at North
If North gives away his beloved cut shot, he will also dry up his strike rate
Hmnnnn....

I don't mind the way the West Indies are playing at the moment. Putting in a decent effort, other than yesterday's fielding.

Pretty slow going so far this morning for the Aussies. 19 off 9 overs.

Well done to North on his first test 50 on Aussie soil. Lets hope he is the first to convert a start into a ton.

Will he be the first player ever to score a hundred in his debut test match, Ashes debut and debut on home soil?? (not including those that debuted on home soil in an Ashes test match)

I remember M. Clarke got a hundred on debut (in India) and a hundred in Brisbane, but not a hundred in his first Ashes test IIRC

If he gets a ton - he will have scored a century on debut against South Africa, England and the West Indies on debut.

There goes Roach's prediction of bowling the Aussies out for 350

They still need the 5 wickets that they needed at start of play today!
