I'm sorry but that's utter bullshit. Did my parents improve because they got married after I was born but before my sister was? How much pain and misery has the lack of abortion and divorce caused countless families over the centuries? Unavoidable fact my arse.

Im a believer (albeit I keep that to myself in the same manner as Fantapants, in order to be respectful of others beliefs and "space" I guess), and whilst I know the Bible frowns upon birth outside of marriage, it's the way I chose to go ... All of us will have differing opinions, but I don't see having children out of wedlock as being such a big issue, regardless of whether you have Christian beliefs or otherwise.

Yep, and as far as passing judgement goes, that's the big fellas job not mine. "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone" and all that. No way I'm in any position to comment on other peoples lives, nor is anyone else.

Effectively BC, what is written in the Bible is very old, and I believe is was written as a guide for people to model their lives on.

So true, written long ago for a long ago world.

That is the biggest steaming pile I have ever read on this site. For you to be so sure that people who have children out of wedlock are less likely to be good parents than those already married is so archaic it beggars belief. You have noticed it is the year 2009, yes?

Many of the people ( clergymen ) who are supposed to be the upholders of these fine standards are continuously being found out to have commited the most hideous of crimes, indeed the most hideous of crime is the one commited by someone of power on a person entrusted to their supervision.

I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Hey, a lot of what you have said fits in this category in my opinion too, I just chose to put my beliefs out there, and you've readily shot them down with flaming arrows and a voice chock full of arrogance (along with a few others here). I was referring to those married couples following the standards of the Bible. CLEARLY not all married couples will be better parents. It will depend as much on the person they are to the parent they will become.

CLEARLY those people are not following the standards the Bible sets. Your point is irrelevant.

1 point at a time. If the people who are, within our community, teaching the standards set in the bible find it impossible to live by them, is that not hypocritical? Of course it is.

Yep. I agree. But why bring that up? My point was if they upheld those teachings, the world would be a better place. They aren't, so it's not.
