Since the church appropriated Christmas from existing pagan festivals, which are founded on beliefs which the Xians do not hold, should the Xians give Christmas a miss this year as well?

I believe the core values of the holiday should be celebrated by everyone, whatever you believe in.

I really want to not celebrate it (save me a heap of $$ for starters), but the rest of our society shuts down. Whats a bloke to do? 8)

I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

My Mother always told me as a young lad, never get into discussions on politics or religion as there can be no winner so why do people bother?

PMT

As a happily married man of over 8 years and in a relationship for over 12 I should be used to it but seriously it gives me the shits. I try to be supportive, "No you don't look fat" when she feels bloated, and I ignore the mood swings and silent treatment for no apparent reasons. Seriously they think they suffer worse but Jesus they see it coming and they can "control it". We men F***, we have no control over it and have to suffer no matter what even when we "think" we have done what we've told.

And they wonder why we prefer to spend time with our mates or at the footy/cricket club instead of at home...

Hope she doesn't read this or I am F***ed....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I wouldn't know, the only time I find out that it's "Pub week" is when I hop into bed and get refused entry, my missus is the same person day in, day out.

agreed, imho the internet sure does have a lot to answer for... remember that saying "a little bit of knowledge is dangerous for some" nothing worse than someone that "googles" the answers and then knows everything about it
