Great signing for the dogs. He is going to be a fantastic addition to our midfield.

Well on the Centrals forum he has already progressed from "outside receiver" .

That is a general observation many people, including myself to an extent, have made about James' game style....

Do you honestly think he would be on more money than Matty Slade was on.

Also as said previously Central only ever sign players to one year deals including the Gowans nothing unusaul or strange there.

Absolutly terrific signing, this is better than any x-mas presents that i will get this year, this bloke will be brilliant in a midfield to which he won't be tagged every week. Elizabeth Oval and the wide open spaces should also help this bloke. As good a replacement for Slade as you could hope for.

Or he could end up in the reserves too. Players who go chasing a flag very very seldom get one.

Very nice surprise to hear about my team in the off season. Usually they don't announce anything until after the AFL drafts.

Neville Roberts, Phil McGuiness and Charles Slattery come to mind as players who left hopeless teams to win a flag.

It looks like Centrals have been watching him closely for a while, so they must think he going to get the job done. The same people have made excellent recruiting decisions in previous years, so I am pretty confident about him.

That's not to say he isn't capable of getting the hard ball, perhaps he will have more confidence to put his head over the footy knowing his new team mates will protect him more than what he is used to.

How are they going to protect him "more"?

This is silly, all We have done is sign up a footy player who got the arse from his previous club. That's all, We didn't steal him, he wanted to play for Us, so no need for witch hunts or sour grapes. Who knows, he might turn out to be a dud, I doubt it but We'll see. Go through Our list, We have a lot of local talent in Our side as well.

In contrast to the opinion of some South supporters, I think Boyd will be a huge inclusion for the dogs, especially if fit.
