South Adelaide - and Boyds departure

Postby Vinney » Fri Nov 20, 2009 1:51 pm

Whats the truth in South Adelaide not playing Boyd in the last 3 games of the 09 season ?
Why would a club do that to one of their top 3 players ?

As its your club , surely you can find out . Maybe the fact that your in the dark is one of the many little reasons why South are where they are now ! The Eagles are nearly there as far as signing Boyd though , thats the truth as of last night at Oval Ave.

Did not play him in last 3 rounds, as the medical staff at South insisted he had Osteitus Pubis (excuse spelling if wrong), even after he had an independant medical clearance to the contrary..

That would be music to my ears Holden. Let's hope we see pen put to paper sooner rather than later. I rate him highly as a player and he would add some quality to our midfield brigade.

The Eagles are Boyd's preferred destination but from what I heard we aren't going to budge on the transfer fee..... And, I dont think anyone is going to pay it.

He doesn't need to be a standout. I would settle for him being a solid contributor. Your loss I would be a very happy man if it was our gain.

Best to quote klaans' post - North seem to be able to sign anyone. Transfer fees, reputations, AFL players are no mountain high enough.

He did play in the third to last round but was unable to kick the ball. I am not sure what an independant medical clearance would be but if you are saying that a doctor examined him and reported that he had no evidence of the injury then I for one am most surprised. The injury is very difficult to diagnose and I believe it became a euphamism for many groin complaints. A bit like the old back related hamstring.

With regards to him being in the top three players this year at south, he was a long way off his 2008 performance but injury free he may return to that form. He started on the bench a number of times and I think may have had one game in the reserves (attitude and form).

He can go where ever he pleases,I do not care.
His prospective club may have to widen their doors so his head will fit through! ;)
