RAM - How much, where and how?

Heres a useful link. Check ur computer it will tell u what RAM u need and whats the maximum u can hold in that unit. eg some older lappies will only take 1-2GB max, u can also purchase RAM on there.

just says DDR 400MHz CL3 on it does that mean its DDR1?

sounds like DDR-400 or aka PC-3200.

This is DDR (not DDR2 or DDR3) and is much dearer that the others because it's old.

MSY should have them ... probably will only have 1GB sticks though and expect to pay around $50

Thanks for the advice, MSY only had 1 gig ones and I wanted 512mb, got one from A&R for $30 and now installed and PC running smoothy never thought Id be able to do this type of stuff myself
