Davey Carlson wrote:Dutchy was a poor result all around and your bet was very unlucky to lose 88' min 2-0 (when 1-0 is perfect for them) - Greek league is stronger than Belgium league and imo Olympiacos defend better than any team anywhere. The key with my bets were Olympiacos held Arsenal at home 0-0 for 75 mins with very solid defending when they went out looking for a draw and Olympiacos got a late winner in the home leg of this fixture (after playing a steady game for 82 mins).

Even though as jolie pointed out standard were desparate to survive I would have thought Olympiacos had enough defensive power to get the result they needed.

Davey... not sure if you know... but the majority of strong sides score between 85 mins and end of ET. Sides like the Mancs, Juve, Real, Inter etc are renowned for their last 5 min bursts. You have to expect for decent sides to score at that stage of a game. Its not "unlucky". Saw a joking photo shopped picture of Sir Alex the other night with the ET board above his head saying "til we score"... quite funny really... but sums up what the good sides do. If you take a peek at when the majority of scoring occurs its at 85+ minutes.

I think Adelaide are a special tonight the $2.10 on the TAB is good value (and Davey I dont care if I can get better value on Betfair, or one of those shitty Pommie bookmakers, I like getting my money straight away) or if you want bigger odds then take the $8 adelaide 2-0 I think tonights game is going to be the start of Adelaide rise up the ladder.

France v Ireland

Back Clean Sheet France at 1.85 betfair, Back 0-0 9.80, Back 1-0 6.40, Save 1-1 9.20.

After watching the game on Sunday morning (0-1 France) the French dominated and Ireland didnt have a good chance for the entire game - unless Robbie Keane weaves some magic I cannot see how they will score with an average at best striking and midfield players. The 3 Correct scores above all suit France because they will qualify but we need to cover 1-1 to get our money back here in case Ireland bang one in (because a 1-1 draw still means France go to Sth Africa).

Ukraine v Greece

Back u1.5 Goals, Back 0-0 7.40, Back 1-0 6.20, Smaller Back of 0-1 12, Save 1-1 7.60.

Was a very tight first leg on Sunday morning with few chances in Athens (0-0). I expect whoever scores in Normal time wins as both teams are good in defence but as Ukraine are heavy favourites I expect Greece to go and defend/counter attack for the 90 mins and if they can get to extra time chance their arm. Need to save 1-1 here as this result will get Greece to Sth Africa and Gekas has been scoring goals lately but I hope this can go 0-0 again.
