hence the nickname "the paddle pop lyon" great bloke just big woose.

That's a bit rough, has been a little prone to injury but was one of the best backman in the league. I think playing back was more his forte than a ruckman, but still filled a backup role very well.

Don't think he will play at Mannum, the signing i am talking about is a lot better footballer than Lokan.

Josh Francou??? G. Wanganeen was mentioned last year, the latter would fit as Mannum dont have any points left if retaining most!!! & Gav would be a zero pointer, as he's dabbled in soccer for 2 years now

Na, this guy is currently playing SANFL and is still only about 27 years old.

Will know a lot more in a week or so.

The only other 1 is Michael O'malleys half brother, who was on Powers list, played for Norwood then South, think his name is Cockshell ;)

I just checked Cockshell's age, he's only 24 next year so presumably not him. My guess, and i have no other information, is that its a disgruntled Port Magpies player, maybe someone like Daniel Elstone who turns 27 next year.

They tried to get Cockshell last year but i think he signed with South for 3 years.

The guy i have heard about has not been mentioned before and would be a massive shock to everyone if he left the SANFL.

He is one of the better players in the SANFL.

My guess is Jeremy Clayton, although he is 28.

i heard he was leaving the SANFL and going to Happy Valley with Fisher. Surely they couldnt afford him, he'd be worth 1800 in the RMFL compared to waterhouse.

You want to know the worst thing about all of this. Our league is getting a reputation of a high paying one & as such players are asking for more & more, & unfortunately some clubs are paying it!!! Not just the top end either, players once worth $100, now ask for $200

Totally agree.
Some players getting 100-200 a game. If they went to teams such as Goodwood, Willunga, Morphettvale etc they wouldnt even make the A grade team. Sadly thats country footy these days, there is a price for almost any player. If you are a geniune gun i think your worth every $$$ but surely a keen country junior playing for nothing is better than paying average players 100-200 a game.
