How quickly we forget Paul Hamilton first year coach took eagles to a loss for the dogs first flag .
Mikan got Eagles into the five IIRC in his first year.

And in the context of the previous posts, Mickans' first year came after we finished 7th, and avoided the wooden spoon in 1997 by winning the last two matches.

With westies training started on Monday, i know that young Andrew Dempsey (21 or 22) from Goody Saints has joined the club.

I believe he has won a Div 1 medal 2 years ago, and was a Goody Saints B n F winner in the same year. Could push for league selection at some stage i would guess.

Also Daniel Sukkel is no longer with the bloods. Has moved back to his local club, Happy Valley IIRC

He wouldn't be too old. Only about 27 or 28 i would think.

Good on him giving it a go.

Jack is 26. Played div 1 last year at Shocs, will be missed there and giving up footy at 26 seems young. Will be an AFL coach by 34!

Well you keep burnin' 'em so we'll keep takin 'em...

Takes us a while to polish up and get the bad habits out of them but once we got them thinking the Glenelg way they usually turn out pretty good.... ;)

Do you mean Anthony Dempsey?
Has definately won a Goodies B&F, but pretty sure he has not won a Div 1 medal.

I wouldn't be expecting many more recruits for westies this year. A VFL footballer will be trialling with the bloods next month but i wouldn't think there would be many more.

Not playing SANFL as his new job precludes that. If he could he would still be playing at the Bays. Wouldn't discount him playing locally somewhere in Adelaide.
