1990 Reserves Grand Final

Postby Aerie » Fri Oct 27, 2006 2:48 pm

Does anyone remember the 1990 Reserves Grand Final? Could imagine it would have been a fairly emotional time and against the odds considering they finished the minor round with 9 wins and 11 losses and just scraped into the five as well as the club already having announced the merger with Woodville and being the last ever Torrens' team. Is there a video tape of this anywhere? Scores were Torrens 17-12 (114) def Port 11-11 (77).

The State Library has a video of this; and I'm sure there would be another copy somewhere. I'd love to get a copy of this game.

One of the biggest punch ups ive ever seen live. All in before the siren, two big fights on the wing.

I remember turning a few heads because I barracked for Torrens in the reserves game and for Port in the league game, people around me didn't know WTF was going on. Got in a few arguments with Port supporters in the first game and was high fiving them in the second game! :D

Even though we've been crap for the last 15 years, I still don't think many North fans have got over 85/86 especially '86...

Mind you i haven't got over 1990 yet

Didn't Glenelg lead Port by a similar margin in the 2SF as well?
