Channel 9 commentary team

Postby Gozu » Tue Nov 03, 2009 4:12 pm

Interesting article on who should make up a future commentary team for Channel 9, I certainly have to agree with Mark Waugh but given how "straight" Channel 9 is I'd think he wouldn't be allowed to be as free on air as he is with Fox Sports and I think there's still a place there for Bill Lawry.

I quite enjoy hearing Flem and Blewy on fox, they have a bit of banter and they talk a language that cricketers understand, chuck BJ & Junior in there aswell and it's entertaining listening.

Brendon Julian is the worst sports commentator ever, with Robbie Slater a close 2nd. Talk about just a pretty face! BJ, not Robbie!

I have to admit BJ comes across as awfully thick and is solely there for his looks. The Fox team in general though are a lot better than Nine's team.

How can he want MacGill and Mo in the commentary team?? MacGill is a bumbling mess and as for Mo, "Far out Man, I don't dig it bro".
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Agreed BC.
Those two were terrible in the Ashes.
Marto was alright, but listening to MacGill in particular was torture on the ears.

***Bump***

The wife an I watched the NSW vs Tasmania match yesterday and found the commentary very amusing at times, they are all recently retired from the game and seem to know a fair bit about the personalities of the players.
