if there's someone driving and on their mobile and we pull up next to them at traffic lights my wife will wind down her window and yell ILLEGAL at them, or we'll both look and shake our heads in disgust at them... there are some pretty funny reactions

It would be great to have a Bazooka to blast people on the road when they do something stupid. it would reduce the traffic and I suspect we have all done something stupid on the road so the roads would be empty in the end :D

I hope you blurt out "ILLEGAL" at every other numpty breaking the law on the roads. I'm sure the people you yell at would be trembling.

yeah, there have been times when we've yelled at cyclists for running red lights or someone without their seatbelt on... it's more for our entertainment value then anything! and i doubt they would be trembling really, cos once it's done we crack up...

It is not always possible to be in the "right" lane. I agree people should try and plan their journeys so as not to have to inflict last minute lane changes on other drivers. The other thing I've noticed and it's always the bastards who drive up your arse they get very hot under the collar if you allow someone to merge front left hand feeder lanes into bumper to bumper traffic, one extra car in front makes no real difference to the time it takes to get to the final destination.
You're right !!! "With lots of notice" they can get in whatever lane they chose but as NG said, don't come flying along the left hand feeder lanes and stick on the indicator expecting the world to move over for you. Who is blocking anyones path ?????
Maybe you should stick to driving between 10 and 3 mate...

I agree those selfish B's who deliberately rush up a run off lane, or a clearly signed as closed lane, then want to flick in at the last moment deserve to be stuck where they are.

But we need to distinguish those from the driver who is driving appropriately along a lane and then needs to pull to left or right and gives plenty of notice.
In Melbourne that worked, and drivers behind were courteous, partly perhaps because it was policy, and policed to train them to it.
In Adelaide, you dare not give several seconds notice of your intent to change lanes because that guarantees someone will have time to speed up and close the gap you were intending to move into.
I never noticed it before I went to Melbourne. I guess because it was what I was used to here.
Of course, in Melbourne, most drivers would be stuck on main roads going round and round in circles forever if lane changers who give notice were not treated better.

LIke the intersection of Tapleys Hill Rd and Sir Ansett, where there are three lanes. Most people line up in the two regular lanes, but there's always one or two dickheads that zip into the far left lane and try to cut in. I NEVER let the **** in. They can **** off into the drainage ditch

Yes true CP. I have had some good ones but I have had the same bloke twice (I travel alot for work so frequently use cabs to the airport) and both times I have had to keep waking him up whilst he was driving me !!

LOL I had one who fell asleep on the highway between Melbourne and Geelong many years ago ... He started to veer off the road and thankfully between the horn of a truck and me yelling at him he woke up in time to pull over and let me out (I walked to a Servo and called another cab).

I should have known better when I got in and asked him why he looked nothing like his picture .. Turned out it was his cousins cab and he was filling in for him having arrived 2 days earlier.

Yes yes I know, my own fault for staying in the cab.

ARRRGHH I know it so well. The Commodore Lane. Seriously we have so many of these lanes causing the same problem Portrush Rd, South Rd / Daws rd intersection... Always a tool wanting to push in - but I don't blame the tool (who wouldn't want to be like Brocky, R.I.P.?) I blame the p*sspoor road design that encourages it to happen.

I try not to get angry with the dicks on the road. after all what difference will it make? only serve to rev me up and I definitely do not need that. I do wish however drivers in Adelaide would be more considerate/accepting whilst on the road. but I also wish for world peace and that probably won't happen either.
