The question I pose ... is it South that couldn't afford the money or Neil requiring more money, due to personal issues ?? there's always two sides to a story! I can't see how South 'couldn't' afford it !! Aren't they a 'wealthy' club? I'm happy to hear other peoples opinions??

Maybe they just didn't want him anymore :-??

Or maybe it is because our new coach is the highest paid in the SANFL now? No more money left!

From what i understand is he was made redundant from his day job at the SANFL.He wanted to stay in footy and the panthers couldnt find him a full time job.Which of course he was offered at Norwood. He was shattered as he spent alot of time into developing the kids at SA.it had nothing to do with south not wanting him.Robbie is a quality coach and bloke.Massive loss for the Panthers, but as far as i know it all ended with a smile and no bad blood

Just wondering what the chances are of Ron getting Kenny McGregor out there are?

ZERO. None of the Eagles players like Ron Fuller. Just ask Jarrad Wright! Sorry I don't share the same optimism that the rest of our supporters seem to regarding this decision. Our Board are still rubbish, our CEO is still a liar and our playing list sucks.

Maybe get offboard klaan, you may be weighing them down.
Ronny's in charge of the playing group & will do well, as long as the board leave him alone he'll be fine.
I can understand your negativity with the board but not with Fuller.
Your quick to jump on the bandwagon with other senseless Eagles supporters that have had nothing better to do in there time at WWTFC than to slag a bloke that put his heart & sole into the club.
Your a disgrace!

Sorry, I could have sworn I wrote that there was zero chance of McGregor coming to us down here, and pointing out that the players at the Eagles didn't like him.

I don't have faith in our board and our playing list is not good. Agreed though, leave him alone and I think Ron will be fine. My lack of faith is around this exact situation, there is no way our board could control themselves and therefore a 5 yr deal is going to cost us significant money when they make him walk!

Not sure where I had a go at Ron, apart from saying that I have less optimism than others as per my comment above in relation to our Board staying out..... Hardly slagging a bloke, nor questioning his outstanding record at his former club....

And it's you're a disgrace, not your......

Whether or not there was friction between Fuller and some players; whether or not some fans (including me) questioned some of his moves and motives, South will go a lot better with him there over a couple of years. No question.

I think a lot of you guys are way to tough on Fuller. OK a few sooks at the club didn't like him? So what?!! He has been the best coach bar Laird over almost a decade. WWT are not a greatly supported or wealthy club but he did a great job with finals and knocked of Centrals in a GF which not many have been able to do.

The main thing is that SAFC give him 100% support over 5 years. South should be the new 'Central' if they get their act together. They need to use the Bulldogs as their model and stop the constant backstabbing and infighting.

So has anyone heard anymore on the James Boyd situation ???

What I have heard from the club is that he was signed several weeks ago! :D :D :D

From the SAFC,

Panthers’ list signed for 2010

South Adelaide Football Club is pleased to announce that it has re-signed all its existing out-of-contract players for 2010.
CEO Ben Kavenagh said it was encouraging that the Club had been able to re-sign its list so early.
“It demonstrates to a prospective coach that we have a united playing group that is determined to turn things around next year. It also allows us to focus on adding a couple more quality recruits, of which we have already signed two.”
The Panthers will shortly announce the names of the two signings, but is respectful of the club commitments these players need to complete before doing so.
Players contracted for 2010 are:
James Boyd
, Michael Handby, Ben Warren, Dylan Williams, Mitch Sandery, Brad Crabb, Tarak Redigolo, Nick McKenna, Lee Schmidt, Alex Splitt, Anthony Carlile, Adam Cockshell, Nathan Lyons, Peter Rolfe, Josh Thewlis, Jake Veide, Leigh Ryan, Jak Kennedy-Hunt, Craig Parry, Chris Minns, Nick Murphy, Sam Elliott, Ben Yeomans, Curtis Perrey, James Turner, Tom Carroll, Jacob Crate.
Players that have announced their retirement either during or following the 2009 season are Jason Torney, Matthew Smith, Ben Neagle and Tom Hateley.
For more information please contact Neill Sharpe, SAFC Football Manager on 8186 8200.

I believe anything apart from the crap you and Aceman post here! Besides, as usual, you're wrong...again. Boyd and Parry are contracted players therefore any transfer will attract a hefy transfer fee for contracted players.

Boyd resigned last year by the way.
The point was that the club was trying to lead everyone to believe that all players were committed to play for south and that there were no problems, when most people knew that there were!

Lunchbox, "most people"? A rubbish claim by someone who knows this bloke who knows this bloke who said...
Shoey, IF you are a South supporter try doing it! I have no connection to the club but as a supporter i talk to those who are and i know the clubs endevours are genuine and hard working by all those in a postion of improving the club. Those with conspiracy theories enjoy their annonimity on sites such as this without making any effort to seek out what's really happening which at SAFC there is much more positive than negative. Doubt me? Go to the club ask those who know, like i have done.

Well darley16, I think that myself and many others seem to have more idea than you!
If your attitude and aptitude are any indication of the norm down there, your club is exactly where it belongs and will most certainly where it will stay.

If i was Ronny i'd be puting alot of effort into signing Micklejohn as their no.1 ruckman.
You can't tell me they can't afford him with what they have wasted on players in the past.
