Parry & Boyd depart South.

Postby blueandwhite » Mon Nov 09, 2009 6:18 pm

The club has just announced in a media release that Parry and Boyd have expressed a desire to find another club. I believe both players are contracted for next season, so a clearance would have to be negotiated.

"Both James Boyd and Craig Parry have advised the South Adelaide FC that they do not
wish to play for the Panthers in 2010. The Club will not be looking to attempt to change
either player’s decision and as such will immediately commence negotiating transfer fees
for both players upon registration of interests from other Clubs.
"

If Boyd goes to Centrals I will :vom:. Sturt maybe, they have had very good service from former panthers in Mcglone and further back Powell.

Boyd seemed to go through the motions a bit this year. Was well down on 2008 form (injuries played a bit of a part). Will be a loss.

Parry..well, he's been shopping himself around for a few offseasons now hasn't he. FIGJAM. Good footballer who could get more out of himself though.

Oh, please can we actually get at least one of them to the Eagles? If we get Boyd, we may have our first Magarey Medalist next season - twice he's got three votes against us despite one of our players on each occasion being the standout on the park. ;)

The clear advantage for South is that the two players are both under contract, so they will both be going to the club that has the most $$$ to make an offer in Transfer fees to gain their services.

Disappointing that they are leaving, yet one of the main problems at South has always been players that play for the club yet not for the jumper. Cutting players like this loose is the only way for the club to move forward. Archard, McGlone and others have all taken the same step which is very disheartening, yet if they are not all about the jumper of the club then its for the best. Lets hope that South with more room now in the Salary Cap can pick off some other Recruits of the same calibre to replace them and more so. :?

CDFC = Boyd (Am of the understanding they were looking at him 4 to 5 weeks ago) - I think I posted this on one of the WAFC forums.

The club is bigger than individuals......good to see Ron and the staff weed out the ones that dont want to be there and are only in it for themselves.

Good luck boys :vom:

I think that Boydy has always only played for himself. Having come up thru south's development squads, does this say that something is fundamentally wrong down there? I think that the club needs to rid itself of these types to move towards success.

He never seems to think that his team mates are quite up to his standards.

I could gloat about the Boyd news as when I previously broke it a South supporter had a go saying he'd signed a contract, but I won't. ;)

Can see (would like) Parry doing a Schnebichler and Christie....

Would be good coming off the bench to give Cranny a rest for 10 mins each qtr....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

With Lobbe probably playing with the Power, Westies could really do with Parry.
