Your right One Eyed but unfortunately that is the climate we live in. You either try and match the big boys or continue to struggle. Gone are the days of loyalty and self worth.
We lost Aaron Bevis last season as he chased the lure of the bigger bucks at Min Man. Same with Lutze next season.

money isn't everything , gawler central seem to be able to hold on their best players , you lost them because your club sucks.

With the continual in fighting can you blame the player for leaving, surely this is about the environment around the club

QV, Its ironic that the players that have left have been enticed by the former coach who was the catalyst for the in fighting.

Fact 1: The players that have left South were not encouraged to stay as it is those same players that have let the club down year in year out over the last 5 years. If they had any conscience they would repay every cent they were paid over this period and then apologise for putting their hand out in the first place.

Beegrader... are you suggesting guys like Casey Schell, Ron Lee, Scott Evans and Jake McVicar have let the club down over the past 5 years.. If so i would like to know how?

These lads played for nothing, never missed a training, always helped out around the club where they could and would be found standing at the bar every saturday night until the place shut spending their hard earned at the bar.

To say these boys have let the club down is absolutely baffling...

Texas, if all these lads played for nothing (which I doubt) then my info is incorrect. My point is where has South finished the past 5 years with these players gifted A grade spots every week? Lets be honest if South are going to be successful these good honest players would be playing at 12 not 2.20. Not suggesting their not good blokes but not one would of got a spot in either Tanunda's or Angaston GF sides.

Beegrader... Ron lee rang me earlier after reading your comment and he has asked me to post this email he wrote earlier as he is not na active member of this forum...

Mate, that bloke is a peanut. I have left for a change of scenery and
still not receiving a cent to play footy. I have played for nothing at
SGFC except in my first year and Casey the last year or so which
have been minimal. If anything, we should be putting our hand out for
thousands after volunteering year after year in the kitchen, canteen &
bar on finals, sanding squash courts for renovations, spending at least
$100 every Saturday night over the bar, paying subs, buying shorts,
socks, polo tops, players in the auctions etc etc.. I would be scared to
know how much we've put into that place. And wouldn't get a game at
Angaston?! Give me a f**ken break who is this clown its probably him and
his incoherant f**ken opinions that have brought the club down for the
past 6 years.. Do us all a favour BEEGRADER and jump off a cliff & take
any offspring you have with you in case they grow up and be anything
like yourself.

"Because your club sucks" is not a very intelligent, thought provoking argument Pinch but I will respond anyway. I can guarantee you GC has spent way, way more than SG every year they have been in the BLGFA only to implode come finals times. They are renowned for their players sledging each other on the ground, they sacked a very good coach last year to ensure jobs for the boys. Result: Same self imploding. Might as well finish 8th or 9th and benefit from the new points system.

That email was getting a bit personal there Texas. I think he may have missed the point a little though, if we have had all these great footballers and club people for the past so many years where has it all gone wrong? Is it the committees fault we cant run games out or hit a target from 20 meters.

Well Beegrader perhaps Ronnie took it personally that you think he was a part of the problem and not worthy of an a grade position at the club.

I never mentioned any names Texas, in fact until you posted the names I didnt even know which players were leaving. But the undisputed facts are the club hasnt been successful with the current crop so it does seem strange that they have decided to follow the person who is perceived as the reason for the lack of success and part of the problem.

no you never mentioned names...but your 'fact 1' stated that players that are leaving were not encouraged to stay as they were considered the problem over the past 5 years. I simply mentioned 4 loyal blokes who have given there all for the club to see if these guys were the blokes you were suggesting...

Thats the classic contradiction there Texas. 4 loyal blokes who are leaving!!

And obviously everyone that has been part of the playing squad over the last 5 or so years is at least a part of the problem. Who else could be?

What a day. The forums been running hotter than an Afghan summer.
Welcome BEEGRADER, hope all your posts are as good as today’s.
ps - Sorry about the cooking books thing.
I should know, I spent time inside for counterfeiting Afhan dollars.
I'll tell Stewey White to stitch up his pockets the day he gives Geradis a towelling.

spoke to makris today, he is undecided at his future, he too looking for a change not sure where yet has spoke to a few clubs tho, The big G Train is heading back to south with a new coulor of boots, heard he had worn out his welcome, think virginia's footy trip fund helped to buy his new boots. he is a MASSIVE get for south.
Speaking of man mountains heard AK 99 has sent his resume and sale price out via email to prospective clubs. think maybe limited clubs could afford that kinda money.
and the other Prockerpec will be down this way again some where unlikely south could afford him considering they are on there knees.

note to queen vic, barossa set for massive year bout to name BIG sponsorship deal. and 2 boom recruits 1 that even commane wil play second fiddle 2

I was under the impression that he was heading for bigger things down at Hamra Homes Oval.
Hope he isn't playing for loop at such a ripe age.
