Played mostly off half back and a little bit on the ball, but a very good left footer who runs and carries the ball.

From North Adelaide originally I think and a shame he isn't persisting at the Dogs, played a league trial game at the start of this year.

Big Phil, are you saying Porter was a reserves player last year not U18?

The troops seem to be vacating faster than the children overboard affair.
Maybe a clean out is what they needed anyway.
Just saying Mulligan jumped out of the saucepan and into the fire at South.

Yes, Ryan Porter played all year in Central's reserves side, I think he is 19 or 29 so too old for the Under 18's...

can some confirm this, if so not good

Heard last night that a Virginia player (a backmen) was invited out to Central District to do a pre season and try his luck in the league/ Reserves squads, part of joining CDFC is that your home club has to be Gawler South and if you dont make it with us you need to go back to South so we can keep an eye on you for future weeks...This seem very interesting that two young guys have joined south this week...the jeff brown connection to both clubs....that player from last year that joined south mid season and still played a few weeks at CDFC....

i understand that this doesn't really effect many BLG side as you just dont clear from inside the league, but still CDFC still ask for all the BLG side to support their club... think the APFL side would be p#ssed with this.

Can someone confirm.

Do these lads have a club of origin, since they are from CDFC?

If what Queen Vic says is true then this is an outrage. Gives Sth Gawler first dibs on any Central Districts drop outs and right of refusal if these players want to play elsewhere in the league.

Not sure about Porter, but Appleton is from Hamley Bridge.

It is common knowledge that jeff brown was an adivsor to recruit a new A grade coach at sth gawler and help them with the structure of the football department. One might reasonably assume that Jeff has a conflict of interest in his role as the reserves coach at CDFC and if the case is true then it should be reported through the appropriate channels not on a web forum.

The Jeff Brown thing is appearing to be getting a little smelly.

I have heard a rumor that he is trying to set South up with a reasonable list of Kids and then come back as their next coach and take the glory. (so watch out Mulligan).

The more U18's he can send to South the better as they will receive no points.

this centrals south gawler thing has conspiracy written all over it.
it raises a few questions
it is well known centrals were not happy with the change to u16/u18 competition
is south gawler effectively going to be centrals u19 side? be interesting to see if south gawler adopts a central style game plan.
who is paying milligans salary?
has the heart stopped beating at south? seems as though they have sold their soul here and there will be more heartache for the faithful at south as i cant see how guys playing for a promotion to the centrals reserves side will gel together.

all very fishy, perhaps the BL&G and SANFL should be looking more closely at this

Personally, I think its sad that when a struggling club captures some good young recruits, and that based upon rumour, you guys think South are 'rorting the system'. If any of you took any notice, a few Centrals U16 and U18 players moved from outside the league to clubs within the league last season, however, didn't play any games with their new barossa club because they were always at centrals.
Has happened already, and no-one noticed it so why does it matter now?

The Lions have been known to cook the books in the past, back in the Scott Norton days.
More to come out of the "South Gate" scandal.....

LOL you guys can't be serious, i know that south have got to there club 1 from west adelaide,2 from the plains comp,2 from centrals and i heard 1 from North Adelaide, i go for another club but i know there football manager and he told me that they have also got on there coaching staff Garry Low, John DeMeo and Richy Tidswell all have had roles at centrals in the past that is where there conection with the 2 lads that they have signed is.Do you realy think that Centrals would allow what you are saying to happen i think not.Do you think that Jeff Brown would put his postion at centrals at risk by doing what you are saying, i think not.
Maybe some people are worring what south have brought to there club and they just might be on the verge of playing some finals football.
Me personaly i don't care what they have got, i'm happy with the recruits that my club have got, you heard it here first Freeling, South grand final

Would be good to see Robinson back at pantherland, but negotiations appear to become a stalemate.
The travel, injuries and wedding cake seem to be a factor.
May see Coach Hadden cash in the prescription for the doctors orders and bring in a key position bigman.
Key position bigman = Angaston premiership 2010.
