One truth and one lie. I think we all know which is which.

Any truth to the rumour that Torney took the gig at South because he is getting paid almost as much as some league coaches? Seems South may be keen to continue to attract people who are more motivated by dollar$ than succe$$......

Well he was doing an ok job at Woodville .And I heard him at many games going off his head. That IMHO is his only problem .
$$$ seems to be flowing freely if Ron could coach fulltime and give up his Firey job.
But why not try something anything down there.

If he was in fact doing an OK job at Woodville then perhaps they should have/would have fought hard to keep him? Any insight Mickyj?

or is Godden bringing in his own crew - any news on who if so?

Although Souths four new signings are young they seem to have some real potential to be good players for us! Two of them representing vic metro in 2008 and winning their TAC cup teams best and fairest! They all seem to be midfield/crumbing forward types which we definately need but a couple of talls are an absolute must!

I dont care how much they are paying him i think its a great move. One of South's biggest problems is young talented locals not wanting to play for them. Im hoping a figurehead and professional like Torney can change that feeling. The SFL u17 rep side (who beat amateurs comfortably) would have have given the Panthers 18's a touch up last season.

Time For South to tap into the local talent and become a force. This will mean they have to pour more time and effort in the SFL though as their presence has been almost non existant.

Nope only what the CEO said in the Email .That they will let us members know in the coming weeks .
His biggest draw back was his temper .I enjoyed his coaching compared to Ron's.
But whoever gets the gig will be the Eagles Fourth Seconds coach in four years .With 2 of the last 3 getting the seconds into the GF!

The Club made the decision to get rid of Jefferies. South are getting all of the Eagles seconds! I know for a fact that the Eagles hierachy are enjoying South Adelaide's work at the moment. Micky you know that the Club was not going to accept Jefferies behaviour this season - no way. Kurt Slaven was unhappy with his behaviour and that meant the end of Jefferies.

 he isn't up to afl....nice guy that will improve with experience & had (by all reports a great year at morphy's) but that is far from even an afl rookie list & the bloke can't kick very well either imho
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

In full agreeance re Seb.. however someone is inflating his ambition... cos he's looking at the rookie list. I think big big young ruckman are a rare commodity right now and sides are willing to look at anything with "potential".

Im not sure about his kicking though... cos I never actually think I've seen him do one..

Seb's a top bloke, but I reckon clubs will be better off looking at another Bays ruckman in Warwick McGinty 2009 Reserves ruckman. He can kick and is very mobile. Ran down plenty of opp players who under-estimated him to win HTB decisions this season.

Despite winning the reserves Best & Fairest tonight, David Allocca has been told by Central he will not be a required player in 2010.

Probably explain why he didn't do an acceptance speech when he was announced as winner. I would suggest it his attitude, not his ability, behind the reasoning there.
