AS long as Carlton play the Crows, and I get in on my Glenelg membership, I'd be happy. Doubleheader ! If not they can get ******.......

Some stuff Ive heard -

> Fixture will be released late this week
> Clubs were given 2 draft fixtures a few weeks back - one with and one without the Magpies
> West were fixtured away at Prospect on Sat arvo, they are trying to get this changed to be the season opener under lights at Richmond on the Friday night - chances are it will occur
> Norwood will have the bye Rnd 1
> No mention of Double Headers with AFL

Lets see how accurate my info is :D

Probably makes sense, last season North asked for a twilight game at Prospect and got the bye.
West probably asked for similar for a game at Richmond and the SANFL want to send them to Prospect.
Club's should work out what they want then ask for the opposite.

Like Norwood having the bye when it seems to have become a bit of a tradition that the first match of the season is under lights at the parade.

2 Musts IMHO
-Premier should ALWAYS get their Round 1 game at home to unvail premiership flag
-last seasons 9th placed side should have bye in round 23 and 8th place team should have bye in Round 22

Lot of talk about double-headers here. What are people's thoughts on one triple-header at Footy Park featuring the top six teams from the year before somewhere in the last 3-4 rounds leading into the finals? To me it just seems wrong that, apart from this year, that the teams don't get at least one game on Footy Park before the GF.

Mate in Darwin reckons there is an SANFL game being played up there early in the year, maybe a double header with their grand final which would have to be Round 1 or 2 I would think. But he didn't know which teams involved, can anyone shed some light?

No game for premiership points will be played in Darwin. Perhaps a trial may have been organised.

Friday Night:
West vs North (Richmond)

Glenelg vs Norwood (Glenelg)

There's two of the opening round matches, wonder what the rest will be?

I can't see this happening, but I would like to see us play Port at Thebarton in Round 1.
