South Gawler have outbid Balaklava for one of our imports of the last couple of years, Brady Scott.

Must be the first recruit Milligan has brought to the BL&G.
Young Jamie may find it a little tougher here in the big league.
Doesn't matter how much money is thrown around, you can't unscramble an egg.
The only way South will get out of this mess is when they amalgimate with the Angle Vale Owls

To out bid Balaklava is not a big thing. The Peckers are one of the most professional clubs when it comes to handling recruiting and player payments. I would dare say they offered a figure and that was it. By the way South Gawler go about things, they would have been throwing the dollars around until some fell into his pocket.

Anyone from Freeling or Kapunda want to talk about the recent bidding war that went on between the two clubs?

Drifter's probably right.
I tell you one thing though boys, the money your competition throws around is a constant source of amusement/frustration up this way - depending on what you're trying to do at the time.
BTW - I'm not saying your competition is alone but as an almost neighbouring comp, it gets talked about a lot more.

No you don't actually. You just have to look for blokes who are genuine.
I've seen plenty of monkeys playing BL&G - just better paid ones.

The Riverland forks out plenty Dogwatcher. However it usually attracts the hacks who aren't good enough to get the coin they want closer to the city.

Not saying the Riverland doesn't fork out plenty but there is no way we can match what you guys play.
It's not a criticism. It's just the way it is.

I know of one club here who offered a BL&G league star $800/week and that wasn't enough. He was by no means a hack.

Like it or not, that's how the market operates.
A joker would rather play in the BL&G for $600, than travel to the Riverland for $800.
Barmera and Waikerie have been no saints, they've had a crack at a few BL&G players recently $700, $800+

Correct Pinchy. I know coach Seelander doesn't push his chargers to represent themselves at that level.
He knows its an annual meat market at Berri and Pt Pirie.

Hardly call the Stelzers hacks. Matt was runner up in your medal two seasons ago by 1 vote.

Any riverland club would love a paid guy who trains up here once a week - none of them do so your figures are a bit out.
