Geez, Rocky and Bloods letting it rip! Hand bags at dawn!!

Some very interesting results yesterday or what boys!!

Compass golds posting a formidable total. Crushers will need JI and the irrepressible Bodie Wilson to be on top of their games to get that one against a pretty good bowling line up. Improbable but not impossible!

Willunga vs Goolwa is anyone's game. Willunga have the runs on the board, should be a close one.

As for the other two games!!! I can understand 19 wickets falling at the Bay on an early season turf pitch, but 21 on matting at the batsman's paradise Elliot!! Unbelievable!!!

I think Maroons making 108 on turf against probably the best bowling line up in the league was about par for the course, maybe even exceeding expectations as 2 of the top 3 in Barrett and Brown got called up to the Golds. EBay 9 down in reply?? What happened there? Although with M Lintern still at the crease anything is possible, could still go down to the wire.

Also, Elliot making 61 and winning! Would've expected Bryce to make them on his own!! B Millar made a ton in the B's, reckon he must be up next game to bolster the batting.

Think there are a few more turns to come in that game ,Aldinga may have been bowled out for 48 but Elliot are 1/12 allready they have not batted past 40 overs this year yet and only in front by a few runs ,outright on card there for sure but to who,Dont forget lads no bonus points this year and more points up for crabs in second innings outright win.

Wow Enc Bay ,same every year up and down ,but still think they are a top 4 side,Mt Compass 288 very good but thats the sort of score u would expect in A grade if u bat u full 70 overs,Willunga all out for 170 in the 70th over on Goolwa oval the quickest oval around ,260+is a good score there but they do have the runs on the board and small targets are the hardest to make but still only 2/3 runs an over bat the 70 u win.

turf on the weekend was wet but was just as bad for both sides. wasnt like enc bay got the rub of the green. were just far too good for a very ordinary pt elliot side. worst bowling line up in the comp i would say. only reason the runs were made quicker was 4 out of 6 balls weren't reachable. tiny wanted an early arvo and didnt call them wides. clarkey was the only bloke to show any sort of resistance with the bat. the rest just folded like cards.

was also good to see mods hitting some around the place. half a dozen absolute tracer bullets to go with the miss hit that went for 6 over long on. glad i dont bowl to him.

Richard u are funny arent u,Goolwa where picked by most as favourites this year <u dimwit>,big deal we lost onedayers think u will find that we have made the most runs so far and have not been bowled out yet,Flop my ares lost to port elliot and last years premiers by2 runs in last over,Port elliot loss no big deal fisrt game of year anyone can win those and for Port Elliots first game back in A grade for 14 yearsgreat effort for them and i hope they have a good year

rocky your half right, your team are a flop big deal youve made the most runs but you still havent had a win what does that say??? and first game of the year anyones game ey..? yous should have came into that game knowing we cant lose ths yet yous didnt do much if elliot arent as good as you think why couldnt you beat them?? rocky players will leave your club with the amount of rubbish thehyracky talk as youve seen two goolwa lads left and will be more to come and the 2 that did leave one had your side in shambles whether the ball was so far down legside to hit or not yous should have capitisled! and compass gold had you had some real A graders droping dollys on the boundry you may have won too but hey with results this week end anything could happen lets just hope your two day format proves what your sayin yes you have quality side but a quality side not winning doesnt say much for the goolwa cricket club

just had to highlight that one bloods, best spelling for the word hierarchy i've every seen.

and while we are at it bloods, looks like goolwa has the upper hand on willunga bowling them out for 170 without spurling playing. doesn't mean much till the end of the days play next saturday of course.

I reckon Mount Compass Maroons will surprise a few teams this year. has a lot of potential and has great experience in S.Binns, H.Lewis, P.zimmerman which is backed up by sum really talented youngsters in their wicket keeper A.Hunter , B.Mckenzie has showed a bit and young Dalitz is a handy quick. Watch out there coming.

wouldnt forget cummings and young J.crosby who is simply an un-earthed talent having a stint in the c2s, then taking a 3 for on debut, the kid can play!!

The depth at compass is deep with many youngsters such a Mark "Cheezal" Rowley waiting to get back in, Young Ryan "Cosgrove" Binns and thats just to name a few.

the bay boys yesturday were a joke. too many throwing their wickets away. the maroon bowling line up is padestrian but was taken too lightly. i still dont know how a few very gentle mediums can have a side at 9-50. having said that. they bays are missing Wood, Parry, Edwards and Moller. thats 4 of your top 6 bats but still should have done better. their bowling effort was superb, butler and lintern were untouchable. lintern 5-15 and butler 3-15 odd. its the best line bowling line up in the comp but needs runs to back it up. maroons and pt elliot will fight out for the wooden spoon. if maroons batting was a bit stringer then they may win a few more games but fell away very heavily after about No.5 or 6. my money would be on the bays to win outright next week. crosby is a novice, even the sun will shine out of a dogs arse once.

the standings at the end of the year to be

compass gold
mclaren vale
enc bay
willunga

goolwa
aldinga
compass maroon
pt elliot

Im just not hoping you are not getting a bit ahead of yourself rock, You guys havent won a game as yet and as silly as the results are this weekend. You guys could be at the bottom and a long way from finals if you dont win this week. You dont wanna be 0-3 going into round 4. The potential is there mate, but its a long way back if you boys cant chase 170 on the quick goolwa strip. :-k
