Absolutely you're right. I'd be keen to see what they do with Escape from New York, for example. Clash of the Titans should be great with modern effects. But Revenge of the Nerds?
Don't get me wrong I love a good super-hero movie and I thought King Kong was pretty good. The new Battlestar Galactica on TV is fantastic IMO. I just think they have got a bit lazy when it comes to new ideas and the re-makes seem to be getting out of hand.

The BBC already did a TV-serial of Triffids back in the late 70s.
Mind you, I wouldn't mind seeing a proper feature film made. The original movie was so far divorced from the plot of the book it was almost comical.
