There is generation of school teachers in this state (around the 40 y.o. mark) that are all the same. They have never left school. They grow up at school, go to uni (bludge) for four years, then straight back to school again.

Then they "teach" at schools where they spend more time on strike, or on stress leave. Whinge and complain that they are over worked, yet they only work 6 hour days, 5 days a week, and get 12 weeks off a year.

The best teachers I ever had at school were the more older ones and the younger ones, who had only been teaching 2 or 3 years.

You blokes are kidding aren't you? Teachers get paid jack shit and they have one of the most important jobs in society, educating the next generation. If you think teaching is such a scam, why not get that bludgy degree and then attempt to educate a generation more in touch with their rights than their responsibilites?

If you can do it on the bit then tell me what school you are at and I'll send my kids there.

Cheers,

REB

That's true permstance, I wasn't saying that all teachers were winners, just that it all looks easy from the commentary box.

For everyone who says teachers are underpaid/overpaid, does anyone actually know what teachers get? Im sure Zippy would have some idea, but its still lower than anywhere else in the country, and quite small compared to overseas.

I agree that teachers are underpaid - as usual you get what you pay for, dont get my wrong there are some good ones out there but some that have no concept of the real business world at all because they never left school!!!!

why would I go get a degree to become a teacher when I can get paid more without one?

12 weeks sounds good, but unless you have a full time job, thats 12 weeks each year you dont get paid a cent.
